the car had a bad air/fuel mixture due to a a plug of the lamda sensor that came off with this aftermath occuring but in general nikos pushing the limit had very good endurance from the engine. Nikos you should try maybe also the fiat coupe 20vt engine!!

Hi Stilatos! Well the lamda sensor was the first estimation. Now that we opened the engine we saw that the pistons were much damaged and probably there was a wrong setting on the engine's timing... We will know for sure by Monday...

Turbo engines are not much suitable for a tracday car. Except you have the money to change half of the bits after every race... :) Why? The maths will answer your question. eg Serres Circuit is 3,7 long. That means if you want to go flat out for 10 laps (which is not much), your car has to be reliable and cappable to run on redlines for 37km!!! That's a long way to go!! :) It is completely different driving in a circuit and driving in the road. If I had the car just for the streets, I would definetely chose a turbo engine! ;)

Engine/gearbox/ECU found!! There is a chance this weekend to try to fit it in the Stilo and see what custom engine mounts we will need... :)

While waiting for the new engine, I was looking back to some photos of my car. How I got it and how it is now...

Can you spot the difference??? :ROFLMAO: (I don't have a photo of the interior as it was stock!) :D

Well, first good thing is that "it fits!!!!" :D This week we will work on the custom engine mounts. We changed also the clutch disk with a new one...

Mmmm lovin' it! Guess it should fit since it's narrower (3-cylinders wide) than the Abarth engine (5 cylinders wide).

Is not like that actually. The abarth engine is smaller. Even that you expect when saying "V6" is 2 rows of 3 cylinders, the cylinders are one next to the other, so the engine is longer. You can see that from the inlet manifold and from the glossy inlet pipes that stand one next to the other. Actually at the end, the gearbox will be touching the inside of the driver's front wheel arch... :eek:

Cool, looks good in there. What Driveshafts are you using? and if you changed the hubs what hubs?
We don't know yet. Once we will fix the engine mounts and finalise the engine position, we will measure and we will decide. I was already using an Alfa Romeo driveshaft for the left wheel and a custom one for the right...

Chassis has been modified for the engine mounts! The engine is in it's final position. This week I will modify the driveshafts and we will finish with the exhaust...

I had problems with the ECU. The "set" came with a wrong one, so I was looking for another one for a long time. (n) I finally found one in Netherlands. I might got it by the end of the next week. ;)

Engine is in position. Custom driveshafts are ready. Exhaust is also ready. So once I get the ECU, I will finish with the front end (cooler etc) and then some electrical work that has to be done. Hopefully until Easter, the car will hit the road... (y)

AT LAST!!!! :D After almost two months of looking for the right ECU, things will start rolling again!!! :D

I just received the correct ECU, together with the immo box and the key. I would like to specially thank Johan from Schepers-Autotechniek for providing me this very rare ECU set! (y)

Also few days ago I received from HiSpec a set of calipers for the handbreak (because of the Brembos on the rear axle)...

There is no time to waste!! ECU plugged in today and we tested the engine for the first time!!! (sorry for the video, it is from my mobile)
