I thought i would point this out, i just suffered the poxy broken turbo pipe on the mw. the inner wheel cover on the n/s rubbed though the pipe over the years. constant whoosh when it kicks in (does sound nice but performance is lowered as well as consumption).
I tryed fiat, they wanted to sell me the complete pipe system, from intercooler to turbo, only the rubber pipe on the end is needed (approx 1 ft max) - not bad at over £80 with a 3 day lead time:mad:.
I cut my orginal pipe down and made good then looked for a generic pipe,

it come in 1 meter lengths, mine came to £19 including express delivery.
you need to twist it about abit to make it fit but as there is so much its ok, also make sure you cut out that bit of plastic whilst your there to stop it reoccuring further down the line.
you will also need a couple of jubbly clips (75p each at a1)
oh yeah its bore size 54mm.
hope that helps someone out.

Hello; I get excessive 'whossing' when the turbo kicks in, and i have my garage to have look and expressed that it could be a split intercooler pipe, and they have come back to me and said that the pipe is in-tact with no splits in it. However i disagree and would like to know where to look if anyone can point out?

have you got a picture so i can check mine. had a look the other day but wasnt sure what pipe it was as there is two pipes come out of the intercooler.
one of them is conected to a plastic pipe that goes up into the engine buy the egr valve i think. but not sure where the other one goes too.

Would a split pipe cause power loss? I blanked the EGR and power was back and great. Now it just revs like there's no turbo. Any ideas? Anyone got a part number for the pipe in question that rubs and splits?

Just a quick question, not directly related but anyway:

I had my car on a lift today and found that the pipe from turbo to intercooler is just a bit oily. Could this be a reason for concern?

Hi all, I have just had a drop in power the last couple of weeks. I noticed last night when driving down a tight lane with the windows down that when I rev the car a little there is a little whoosh noise after I pull my foot off the throttle. So is this the common split hose you think?

I haven't had a change to look under the car yet so I cannot determine if my thoughts are correct.

I had to take my wheel arch liner out to get at the reverse light switch the other day and noticed my pipe is wearing thin.

I think this is a manufacturer's fault and it must happen to everyone eventually. For the mean time I've cleaned it up and put some grease on it but don't think it will last.

Its really accessible when you take the liner out too if this helps.
