If you mean the catch/stay straps which tend rust with lack of use then simply spray WD40 (or similar) onto the strap within the door (push the tube past the rubber grommet and squirt).

Don't get too carried away though as you don't want it sprayed on the glass or speaker

Or if you're feeling really keen, replace the check straps with the later, modified verison. FIAT modified the strap by adding a plastic coating which puts an end to all the creaks and squeaks you're experiencing.

Ok ill be the first to say it. Sell the car and get a 3 door :p
Back on topic arent they called door check straps. I gotta do one of mine on the new car as it has snapped. :bang:

They are driving me insane :bang:
I have greased and WD40ed then greased again, even inside the rubber cover and still no better.

You really surprise me as when I did mine (just last month) they stopped squeaking only seconds after. I presume you're certain it's not the hinges.

Not your best suggestion for 2010 now is it Stu seeing as the OP obviously needs the extra doors

In fact he's far better off with a 5 door anyway since, as you've discovered, the door straps tend to snap on the 3 door (mainly due to extra weight/surface area of the door when caught by the wind) :p

Not sure it really matters what you call them but on the 5 door they allow the door to be left open at different positions (I'm guessing the 3 door is the same) - hence my description 'door stays' ;)

I thought the 3 door gag was pretty funny.
The off side rear is now much better but still noisy but the near side is no better.
Like I said at least i can hear when the kids are coming home :)
