I wouldn't think the electronics would be damaged by the oil, but if the motor has brushes, oil on those could stop it working.

As it isn't working anyway, try cleaning it out with electrical contact cleaner, then just put a little grease on the drive gear.
.

Already bought the electrical contact cleaner but I haven't got time to test it (to much hours at work :bang:).

This is what the circuits look like before the cleaning. What do you think about it?

Let's see if today I can get home at decent hours to give a try with the cleaner...

I believe that it hasn't got oil in it.
If you look closely, you can see that the board it self gained a different color in the places that were in contact with oil (right side of the board)
My biggest preoccupation is the "stain" on the right side of the board (front image). Looks like the oil has gone inside the board, "merging" some of the connectors :(

I don't think that would cause any damage to the PCB.

Clean the PCB with electrical contact cleaner, then plug just the PCB (not the motor) into the wiring. Check if you can hear the relay clicking when you operate the blind switch.

Also check that the motor (without the PCB) works with an external power supply from the car battery. Reverse the polarity to check it works in both directions. Be careful that the white plastic gear wheel does not come out while checking the motor.

After a full day of work on my Stilo, here are my updates:

Tried it but unfortunatlly the relay haven't done any sound (n)
Looks like the PCB is dead...

This had worked. I connected the motor to an 12V output from my PC (I was lazy to go outside cuz it's cold in here) and worked in both directions when I changed the polarity.

With this in mind, I jumped into the car and started to disassemble all the roof lining this time.
I reattached the rear motor in place so I could operate it manually to (at least) have the blind pulled all the way back. It had rolled quite easily (I had lubrificated the motor).
Afterwards, I rotated the roof knob but it hasn't moved at all. I thought that with the blind pulled all the way into the back, tho roof would work. But it didn't :(

Thinking that it could be dirt on the rulers, I operated it manually as well to get it open, clean and lubrificated... I had tried to opened it before manually but just a few inches. Now, I tried to open it completely and it stopped after the first glass was lifted (the front one) and the last (the rear one) started to open. After a close inspection, looks like the drivers side isn't opening at the same speed as the passenger side (as i'm in PT, the drivers side is on the left side :p).
I didn't want to push it to hard because of what happened to Austin.

With this in mind, I just closed the roof again (with the reset procedure) and placed the roof lining again.
I left the blind open and I don't think that I will be able to get it fixed until spring. I don't have a garage and the weather in PT is quite unpredictable  I don't want to risk having my beloved Stilo full of water.

I believe that the left cable is stuck at some point... But it's strange that the first glass opens up with no effort at all and in sync in both sides and then it stops completely.

As for the front motor not working with the switch, I will try the guide on cleaning the skyroof switch -> https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/121463-skywindow-switch-cleaning.html If it doesn't help, at least it doesn't make any harm (y)

I'm glad to see this post has been helpful for some folks.

I do still have a sunroof motor for the Stilo going spare, and a full skywindow.
The roof hasn't been operated for a while and has seized shut. Would be great for someone if yours was stuck open or, if you wanted the glass.

Any idea what these are for?
And what problem would they solve?

Found them for sale on eBay as a Stilo sunroof repair kit.
They are supplied as a pair (1 left & 1 right) for £12.50 plus postage from Poland.

Hi, not sure without going out to look at my spare roof. Perhaps part of the mechanism, but nothing that I think would be susceptible to breaking.
The cable, glass breaking and motors are the parts that go on these from what I've seen.

They are the front sliders I have all my sunroof in a heap in my conservatory waiting of two coming from poland. Mine are not broken but there looks to be a lot of wear they slop about and keep sticking and are covered in grease. Where they are its not very easy to get in with even aerosol grease. I have attached a couple of photos one showing where that part goes thats the front of the roof showing.I have taken loads of photos but I dont know when I will ever get to sort them out into some sort of order.

Davren just thought Id mention about the gear wheel on the motor it was maybe white plastic on the earlier models but mine is metal so anyone needing a new motor be worth while looking out for a metal one. The roof is meant to click click when pressing the button its the wheel jumping over the cable to let the other side catch up.

I Found this Thread whist looking for solutions to my problem and found it to be most informative and helpful. However, it has left me with two choices.:bang:

I recently bought my mw, knowing there was an issue with the skyroof. The seller told me he had had mechanics and electricians to try and sort it to no avail. He finally settled on a plumber and had it completely sealed with black silicon.:( Having read through this thread, and seen the hard drudgery and valiant battles you guys have had, i'm left with, as previously stated, two choices. Do I attempt a repair, or have it re sealed?
I had to sit in a puddle on my way home tonight. Hence my search through the great forum :)

Sorry for the delay in responding I just saw the email.
I had mine apart a few years ago and put it back together.
If it's of any use I bought a spare when doing the job which I have still in my garage?
Let me know if I can offer any advice or if you want the roof

The rear motor works the blind, the front motor works the window panels. The motors are the same but the pcb's controlling them are different, so you would have to keep the correct pcb's the right way around for the front and the back but just change the motors.

I'll dig out some more photos of my repair. The blind will only work when the roof is in a certain position so that it stops coming all the way forward when it is open for example.

You may have an issue with the runner, it may just be too much resistance, or it could be electronic. The front circuit board has a fail safe so you don't trap your fingers i.e. if there is too much resistance it stops and reverses.

Hello Austin

I am the happy buyer of a fiat stilo having a problem of sunroof.
First of all thank you for your information because it is partially thanks to you that I had the courage to dash into the repair of this famous sunroof.

Given that you have a second-hand roof, I shall want to know if you have a pipe in brass in which passes the cable of the sunroof?
