Hi there since i bought my car i've only had one key ( manual opening of the car).
If i wanted to buy the parts second hand to get the remote key what would i need and where would be located in the car ?
I presume i'd need the key fob and the central locking control unit ?
Can anyone help me.
I'm trying to avoid the dealers costs.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Mike

How much work do you want to put in?

If you want a Fiat original key and want remote central locking and working ignition key then you go to Fiat and pay your £150 plus programming and off you go. Easy option

If you want to use your existing key for starting the car but have remote central locking on a separate key fob then there are many kits for around £30 but you'll need to do some separate installation of the receiver and locking device into your car

Or, if you want a similar looking integral key fob and working ignition key like these then you can obtain a fiat metal key blank from Ebay for about £10, have it cut the same as your key at the locksmiths

swop over the immobiliser chip from your present key and the new cut metal key into the new key fob and

install the central locking receiver and locking device into your car for around £40. You can even have a Fiat logo. Coo

Or you could just forget it and use the key:)

I have bougt 2pcs of Fiat remote controller keys from ebay and also 2pcs of "empty" keys which has been grided as copies of my original non remote keys. My car hasn't got any remote keys originally. I have Fiat ECU Scan program (full registered version)with which should be possible to register remote keys. I have been trying to press a key from remote (red light is on at the remote key when pressing a button) during the registering process, but ECU does not recognize those keys...

Fiat importer says that it is impossible to register remote keys to other car that those where originally registered. Is that true really? I cannot believe it...as ebay seller claims totally different.

1. Should I buy receiver antenna or is it originally there even though I do not have remote locking (with mecanical key it has central locking)?
2. Should I send these remote keys with my key card info to be reprogrammed to my car ( to my key card) ?
3. Remote key CAN card from Fiat ?

regards,

Ismo
