Hey guys, I need your experience.
I just bought a brand new ECU for my Stilo(1.6 2003 3d), from the ebay. Could someone tell me what is the right procedure to install it? Need I to program it or is just plug and play?

if it's a really virgin ecu (so not a used one from another Stilo) it is rather plug and play - it will store the security code from the bodycomputer in it's memory and start it's self-learning.
I guess you will have to perform a throttle learning procedure and a phonic wheel learning procedure using the Fiat Examiner tester but i'm not 100% sure of that.
If the ecu was used before it's useless unless you can find someone who can reset it to virgin state.

maybe it's possible to perform the two procedures without an Examiner:

after installation, turn on the ignition without touching any pedal - wait 1 minute - turn ignition off - wait one minute - turn ignition on - wait 1 minute ; this should store the throttle body values.
If the phonic wheel procedure is nessesary your MIL will blink and the beeper will beep - in that case let the engine run until the fan comes on - rev the engine min. 3 times up to 6000 rpm and let te RPM drop to idle in between - wait one minute, turn engine off, wait one minute, turn it on , wait one minute - this should store the phonic wheel values.
If not repeat a few times until it does ....
good luck!

first row is the type of ecu, this one must match!
second row is software version , preferrably must be the same but different version would work too
third row is production date, not important
fourth row is part number, if this matches ecu should work in your case\

keep in mind that a used ecu won't work unless it is virginised before - otherwise it's waisted money....

you also have to follow the procedure like described above to adjust the ecu to your car.

I tried Multipla BiPower 'phonic wheel learn' as below 10 times, but yellow Light still flashing. Then I switch from methane to gasoline and try again, and yellow Light turn Off. Can you tell me is it correct procedure? What if my Multipla learned parameters for gasoline instead of methane. What now?:bang:

"Learning the phonic wheel,
The engine must be up to temperature (75 degrees plus), and the engine needs to be rev rapidly above 5000 revs and allowed to rev down on its own. The easy way to do this is just to stab at the throttle pedal and release it, the engine revs need to come down on their own so as soon as shes reached 5000 revs remove your foot completely from the throttle. This needs to be done three times in a row and provided you have done this correctly the light will stop flashing, switch the engine off and leave the ignition off for the power latch period (60 seconds) before restarting."

5000 rpm is the absolute minimum value, better rev up to 5500-6000 rpm.
After third time switch off power for 1 minute to allow storage of the data.
I'm not familiar with bi-power versions but i guess this procedure should be performed using gasoline.....
