Posts: 64 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Alloy wheel help please.... Hi all, I'm thinking of putting some Motegi 17" wheels on my 1.2 Stilo and I'm not sure if I'll need spacers. The wheels have R841 17x7JJ on the inside and the tyres are 205/40/17 ET 38. From that can any of you tell if I'll need spacers? Also is there any way of actually getting anything back for the Factory wheels? Even £20 or so is better than just leaving them with the tyre man for free!!! Cheers

I've always been on ebay looking at wheels for the stilo and i've come across these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...lenotsupported I've always like the twin 5 spoke wheel with some bolts for details. Currently got the standard blades on mine. What does everyone think? To me it seems quite a bargain...

| | Re: Alloy wheel help please.... Nice ![]() but the stud diam is 100 on them, and the stilo is actualy 98. I've found this before with that lot, they give a whole list of wheels that will fit but then when you check the details, they dont actual fit exactly right, often its the stud diam.

![]() One of my most used searches on eBay... http://motors-parts.shop.ebay.co.uk/...86Q2ec0Q2em282 ...some are still 4x100, but as I said, some claim to fit the Stilo with a fitment of 4x98. Worth a look through though, have seen a few Inovit designs I'm tempted by if I don't source a good set of Blades when I have the money

| | Re: Alloy wheel help please.... I've searched ebay thoroughly too using the same search and thats how i found those wheels. Steven definately doesn't like them but each to their own... I just find the blades too common now and want something different, ish! Alot of the 4x98 are multi spoke and as much as i like those too, its just a bit dull to me. Can't afford the wheels yet anyway but just wanted peoples opinions...

| | Re: Alloy wheel help please.... Try wheelbase, they have an ok selection of wheels that have 4x98 fitting. Obviously they are new, so you pay more but still under £500 in a lot of cases.

![]() To be honest thats why I'd stick to OEM wheels as they seem to suit the car really well but still manage to look a tad bit special but thats just my opinion. | |||

I told him that the tyres were no good and that each wheel was badly curbed. Thanks for this. If I stick with the other tyres will I have to calibrate the speedo then? I really like the low profile look.

Posts: 475 Thanks: 16 Trader Rating: 0 | Re: Alloy wheel help please.... Well this site is very handy to check tyre sizes etc for differences. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Thanks to a fellow forum member. If you put on the stock size of 215/45/17 and then put in 205/40/17 it gives a 4.7% difference in speed, speedo showing 60mph, actual speed 57.2mph But if you use 215/40/17 it cuts the difference down to 3.4% and 57.9mph. Gives you and idea anyways.
