Re: Alloy wheel help please....

modern car speedometers would be out by up to 5% already (long story.. mainly to do with drivers taking car manufacturers to court over speeding tickets) - just another useless fact no one needed to know.. but add this on top of your alloys

Re: Alloy wheel help please....

Well ATM it's got the standard 15 inch steel factory wheels so i'm jumping from 15's to 17's so I guess my speedo will be way out. I need to replace 2 tyres on the 17inch rims which are all 205/40/17. Would it be cheaper to just buy another 2 205/40/17 tyres and recalibrate the speedo (as it it would need recalibrating anyway)?

Oh well! Is it only Fiat that can calibrate the speedo?

Re: Alloy wheel help please....

You can change from 15" to 17" as long as you fit the correct low profile tyres and your speedo will still be pretty much correct (aside from 5% business)

Fitting the wrong tyres is just plain crazy
