(G) Missed out - now gutted!

Hi folks,
been trawling through the ads for a 3dr Stilo JTD when I saw one up in staffordshire up at £6.8k with 24k on a 02 plate. Had leather and arbarth skirts too on that light metalic blue/green colour.

I contacted the dealership etc but um'd and ar'd for a week before I decided to go up (131 miles) and check it out. Only today they said it had been sold.

Then looking around I phoned the next few on my shortlist - the next two have sold as well in the last couple of days!!

Now im realising that, the first car was the one I really wanted and im completely gutted!!!

Ive got tomorrow off and no cars to see! (oneson ebay are not good enough deals)

Keep hunting mate ... took me ages to find mine (nearly 2 months) ... went for age over spec in the end .... a cheaper 53 plate against a fully loaded 02 plate won out in the day .... making full use of the 2nd year warranty to iron out little niggles! Basically if you see one and it's about right get it!! If you dither you miss out in my experience ...

Im phoning about one tomorrow - its not got a rear spoiler though and I think they really complete the look.

HOw easy is it to get a genuine one and fitted - are we talking an arm and a leg? Id also like side skirts.

This one has sat nav - which for me is a nice to have but nothing more. Its also a little high in miles at 39k for a 2 year old car. The price is a bit high but im beginig to think ill never find what I want!

Should be easy to get a spoiler fitted ... think they are glued anyway ... just need to get a bodyshop to match the colours

I was having similar problems when I was looking. Wanted a 1.8 Dynamic 3 Door in Broom Yellow with less than 20k on the clock for under £6,000.00. Not helped by being a fairly rare model, I eventually took a plane up to Glasgow bought it for £5,700.00 and drove it back to Dorset on a Sunday night.

I would say the key is, decide on exactly what you want and what you can afford then stick to it. Eventually one will be available, which will be in good shape and you'll have to be prepared to go to wherever it is.

Bearing in mind none of them are much over two years old, most of them haven't got too much wrong with them and assuming servicing is up to date, most problems will be sorted out under warranty.
