Hello,
I have a few questions regarding, lowering a stilo.
1, Are EIBACH springs the best for the stilo?
2, Do the shocks have to be changed, to compensate for the extra drop?

What sort of a difference did the springs make to the ride, is the ride too stiff, are speed bumps an issue?

Any feedback will be great.

Thanks.

If you search the Stilo section.............................

you will find that this subject has been covered quite comprehensively in the past.

I have Eibach springs and yes they are they best, FIAT use them themselve, except they rebrand them Abarth.

You do not need to change the shocks for a 30mm drop, you do for a 50mm drop.

The 30mm springs make no difference to the ride in terms of comfort but you get improved cornering and less body roll.

Speed bumps and kerbs are not an issue with the 30mm drop but my mate used 50mm and it's a nightmare, far too low, negotiationg speed bumps is tedious.

Hope this helps!

Re: Get them.....................

We beat motorsport world. i was offering a very good price on PI springs atm, my stilo sit on these with a 30mm drop, and i have had eibach springs on my old punto and can say that PI springs seem a lot better.

So i can sort you out a good deal, we are london based as well.

email me for prices [email protected]

Jonppaul.....................

you crack me up, your products are always better and cheaper than everyone elses!

But to date, everytime I've made an enquiry you've been the most expensive outlet yet!

And I've managed to negotiate a 10% discount for Club Stilo members with a lot of retailers, you haven't offered this to us or to the guys on here!

Re: Jonppaul.....................

i can guarantee my product are cheaper than motorsportworld because they are my main competitiors and we price matc againt them.

TC you have only asked me for a price on one product a supersprint back box. dont believe you have asked for anything else!

if you price match this means you equal their price not that you beat it.

my friend has PI springs and says they are good , what is your price on these for the 1.6 5 door stilo and what is the drop?
thanks.

Yes it will if you can find an insurer prepared to insure you with modifications. Go online and do a quote for what you have now and then do another quote with lowering springs and you should get some idea of how much the damage is. Mine went up by £40 but then I was 44 at the time.

Re: If you search the Stilo section.............................

Hey guys, i just recently fitted lo springs to my stilo 1.9jtd. pretty sure i got everything right when putting the struts back in and everything but now i get so much vibration coming up through the front of the car but it seems to only happen when im accelerating. their is also a definite but low rumbling noise that accompanies the intense vibration.

Anybody got any ideas?

I think its all ok, the tab on the top mount aligns with the notch on the lower mount and then the whole arrangement aligns with the hole in the turret? I think lol.
I guess il be checkin that on monday afternoon.
The only other thing i can think of is that iv upset the drive shaft or something, maybe when everything just dropped out unexpectedly. My near side drive shaft came out and i was for ever trying to get it back in, it turned out in the end that one of the 3 bearings had come off the end of the rod that goes into the main housing from the diff. Not sure if iv buggered it up though.

Atleast i wont get bored on monday afternoon lol

Nevermind, its all sorted now. Turns out it was one of the tripod bearings on the other side. *facepalm*
