i have a punto sporting 2001 and my outer door handles stay up when you open the door and wont lock the door unless you push the handle down but they should spring back what do you think??? frozen or a spring,,,i took the door panel off and couldnt see much as there was a plate in the way,,,whats ure advice???????:confused::confused::confused:
 
Just about to start a thread as this morning, in UK, car done this... Lovin the site, second time put in right direction... So Car stays dirty till sun returns and silicon spray plus a little vasaline.... Fantastic,
Ps Lovin my 1.6-16v pre loved by a Arbarth Mags and leather interior titanium exhausted upgraded girl racer.. Betty boo decade in rear window so presumably girl racer.. Fun car.

Don't use Vaseline.. it can rot anything rubber.

Use WD40 to get a solvent into the key locks.. then spray white grease in there. The WD40 will dissolve it and carry it into the nooks. It'll dry there. Also pack some regular grease into the lock until you can't stuff any more in there and work the locks.

Also clean and then grease up the door lock "claw" mechanism... and again work it in by opening and closing the doors a few times.

Finally oil up any moving parts in the door handles.

If you get the doors freezing shut, get some tyre shine and wipe the door shut rubbers with it. It'll keep the moisture off and stop the door sticking to them.
