Hi there can anyone help me ?

My passanger door wont open, central locking all seems to be working fine, but the passanger door just wont open....? :bang:

Any help on this ??

Cheers

if anybody has an answer to this, i'd also be interested as mine has recently started to play up :(. mine just seems to be sticking at the moment but will open.
I have previously had the central locking replaced on that door but it all appears to be working ok now.

Only ever had this issue in the winter time, the handle sometimes freezes up solid, which is bloody irritating :bang:
If you pull on the exterior handle you will see the handle runs into the lock on the car along a plastic runner. Try spraying that with some WD40 (or similar) and see if that makes a difference.
Presumably you have tried the door form inside and out.....
You could try unlocking the car and then disconnecting the battery - then reconnecting after 10mins and see if the car will lock/unlock to your satisfaction. That's a trick that's worked on a VW belonging to a neighbour.
There are other things to try which are distinctly more major so let's not go there but, for now, I'm clutching at straws for a practical solution. Sorry :(

My passenger side central locking and window and stopped working as if all the electrics have suddenly stopped for that door only?! Anyone had anything like that?

I've recently been having some battery and coil problems but dunno if they'd have anything to do with it?

Don’t know if this applies but costs nothing.
Had a similar problem with one rear door the central locking still worked but the door wouldn’t open, turned out to be the deadlock system was jammed.
Put the key in the nearside front door and try left, left, right. If not try right, right, left it worked for me, apparently it resets the deadlock.
Good luck

Well mine has decided to start working again and is now opening:)
I guess it could of been the deadlock which got stuck ??
So for now fingers crossed that it wont get stuck again(y)

You need to use the search on the forum...

I had this problem 3-4 years ago, and i documented a means to get the door opening again... but the underlying fault is a failed latch? It can be replaced by Fiat garage, but make sure you can get the door open before you book it in or they'll charge you for a new door card as they'll force it off to get into the latch through the door.

For a quick recap, you need to sit in the car, lock with remote key fob, pull passenger (inside) door handle, then lock with remote again. Repeat this until the fob stops responding, then stick key in ignition start car, stop car, remove key and repeat the process until the door finally opens.

After this point do NOT double click the fob lock (i.e. deadlock) or your back at square one.

I had this trouble about 3 hours after I brought the car home, I deadlocked it to try it and wished I never did. After a good half hour of messing with the fob I deadlocked it again and clicked the fob to unlock and it worked. Now and again it ceases but I just deadlock the car again then unlock and its ok.

I'm aware of the fact that this is a really old thread, but it may help some people that still have the problem. If it is cold outside, its going to be a freezing issue. Run hot water down over the handle whilst pulling and pushing it to work it in and after a little while it will open. I am going to have a fiat garage look at this as it's bloody annoying to say the least.

Once again thank you very much for the good info in this thread and yet again another praise up for the Fiat Forum (y)

I recently picked up this post with great hopes of sorting out my current dilemma regarding my cars passenger door. It has decided to remain locked for the time being and wont open. When unlocking the car with the key fob the deadlock on the drivers door disengages where as the passenger side door does not. So I set about trying to sort this issue with some good old Forum help and this is where it has lead me so far.

Had a similar problem with one rear door the central locking still worked but the door wouldn’t open, turned out to be the deadlock system was jammed.

Initially I had my hopes this would do the trick and having attempted the suggested dead lock reset (BOTH WAYS) my initial attempt to unlock the passenger door failed.

...... you need to sit in the car, lock with remote key fob, pull passenger (inside) door handle, then lock with remote again. Repeat this until the fob stops responding, then stick key in ignition start car, stop car, remove key and repeat the process until the door finally opens. After this point do NOT double click the fob lock (i.e. deadlock) or your back at square one.

So i then proceed to attempt the second recommended tip in this post and after the tenth time of repetitively locking the car from the inside and awaiting the key fob to stop working to then pull the passenger door handle open...and start stop the car....I gave up as I was getting nowhere.

You could try unlocking the car and then disconnecting the battery - then reconnecting after 10mins and see if the car will lock/unlock to your satisfaction.(

Lastly I attempted the good old "disconnect the battery" procedure and yes you have guessed it, failed miserably yet again.

... but the underlying fault is a failed latch?
It can be replaced by Fiat garage, but make sure you can get the door open before you book it in or they'll charge you for a new door card as they'll force it off to get into the latch through the door.

This is the only information left that seems to suggest where my problem may lie.
Does anyone have anymore suggestions or ideas before i start ripping this door apart, literally??

Hi, I didn't want to start a new thread...so I will revive this one.

My passenger door wont unlock with fob or the button in the car but it will with the key physically in the lock. All other doors open with fob & internal button and also with key in both front doors...strange problem but any thoughts?

Cheers,

NA.

Do not have a clue but all I can say is count yourself lucky as you can still open your door and at least if needed remove your door lock to have a wonder, unlike me a few weeks ago :(

Not sure on that one, there may be an issue with the key fob as you are able to open the N/S door manually through the key hole. Only thing i can suggest is to try and replace the battery in the key fob and see how that goes (y)

Also do try and reset your ECU and electrics by disconnecting your Stilo battery for at least 20 minutes or so and see if that does the trick.

I've got all the problems as in the post so far i've tried.

Repeatedly locking and unlocking with the fob and the button on the drivers door.

Locking and unlocking while applying pressure to the outside of the door.

Detached the battery for an hour re-connected and tried the above again but still nothing happening.

I am going to look at getting the door card off at the weekend but when I do what will I need to do is it easy to access or would I be best biting the bullet and pay for a garage to look at it for me?( and if I do will it cost much?)

Hi. I have different problem. I can open the back doors only with the inside handle but doors dont work with central locking.
