| removing undertray on a 1.2 is a bad idea, as i have found out this weekend. my undertray was smashed to bits on speed bumps and was hanging on by 2 bolts, and the lugs had fractured, so the dealer took it off. on fri and sat i went away for the weekend and got caught in rain and flooding. on this small engine, removing the undertray leaves the alternator exposed and the drive belt gets a good soaking, making it slip, without any squealing. I found this out when i started getting the ASR/ESP errors, then a whole bunch of others before i ran out of electricity after 25 miles, when i stopped to go in a shop. I cam back out and the thing wouldnt turn over. On looking, the insulation, carpet stuff on the bulkhead was soaked in this area, directly behind the drive belt location, and the belt was wet. left 24 hours stood still, it all dried off, went for a drive in the dry for about 20 miles, and all errors went. Moral of the story, dont leave off your under tray and i need a new one

| *custom name* | Re: removing undertray on a 1.2 lmao, love your attitude coyle, mines not lowered that much and the bottom of the gear box has got a few hits also: there is no under tray in the stilo, it has the two splash guards in the wheel arches which go under the engine a bit, on a nite out a few months ago mine finally packed up as all the bolts had been smashed off and it started draggin on the ground. held by the one bolt at the front. i drilled some new holes and stuck it back on as i could see the belt and alternator etc and knew that this problem would occur, this is probably a good idea for yourself
