electrical problems on stilos

hey guys anyone had problems with the body computer on 1.2l 2002 stilo's? weird messages, the clock and date keep resetting, as I'm driving the car keeps running system checks (as it does when you first start the car) then engine fault light, airbag light and the rev, speedo fuel and temp gauges drop to zero for a sec and back up again, however the engine is running fine throughout? help and one know where i can get a virgin body computer for cheap!!! i'm told it costs between €500 and €550 euro plus vat.

you can have a used ecu virginised to save yourself a few hundred euros.

post your question in the stilo section. i'm sure your problem is common on the stilo but i cant remember what the remedy is.

Re: electrical problems on stilos

Yours sound very similar to mine!, and mine has turned out to be the reverse parking control unit in the boot, try disconnecting it... if you have parking sensors worth a shot

very strange the way can-bus lines work on stilos, one thing throws a paddy, then the entire cars up s***s creek!

stilos dont have the best electrics to be honest, and since tunrning my car upside down ive realised how lazy the guys on the production line are, they never clip any wires where they're suppost to go,, just stretch to fit,,,

Re: electrical problems on stilos

cheers lads, let me know how you get on with that sensor. the problem seems to be effectin it starting in the mornings too. it restarts fine all during the day but a disaster to start in the mornin. when it eventually does it spits, misses and back fires for a minute or so. not goin back to fiat dealer they seem to know less than i do. rang around to get quotes for body computer and one service/parts rep never even heard of a body computer!!!!

Re: electrical problems on stilos

tried checking the d4 connector , it seems to be okay no sign of corrosion and even disconnected the battery for a couple of hours( to reset the ecu as suggested by "oldman") neither worked. any suggestions on where to try next?
