(G) Removing Old Tape Headunit!

Is there a special way to remove the old unit out of the Stilo before I take a claw hammer to it?

The removal pins dont click when I push them all the way in and then when I pulled them sideways to grip, they just slide out!!

Do the pins out go so far in?
What's the crack??

Long & thick coat hanger wires, need to go in as far as possible. Try lifting the upper glovebox up so you can get some purchase on the fascia plate. it;s a bugger but it will come out.

Have you got any bicycle wheel spokes, or got a really friendly attitude when it counts/know the guys at Halfords? I went around loads of places to get mine out, no one could do it. Eventually went to Halfords and the guys there did it for free for me, and all they used were 4 bicycle spokes. Once they're in, you can literally pull the stereo out with your little fingers if you wanted.

I removed mine fine with the removal pin thingys fine though, try coat hangers like bozzy said

I use a length of brazing wire cut into 4 bits, never fails & works a treat

the tape unit in mine fell out i couldnt get it to stay in, mind you when i finally did swap it for another i had fun with it eg hammers, fires, chemicals actually i think i have to much free time, wait till you upgrade your speakers if you do they must be the biggest waste of time ever i mean the standard ones are about as usefull as a chocolate fire guard.

Sorted...the nice gent @ Halfords pulled and shook and pulled a bit more and it finally came out...next bit is getting the facia bought and the wiring!! If anyone has any links to the wiring guide that would be great!!!
