Airbag Failure, Stop Engine

Sorry quick post as the boss is beathing down me neck so havn't done a search on this.

Started the car yesterday having not used it for a few days and got the warning Airbag Failure, Stop Engine and airbag light. really annoying as it seems to want to remind me every 10 minutes or so with an audible tone and a reapeat of the warning. Then today got the same warning but a few minutes later when I looked at the dash, the warning had gone and the light gone out.

Whats that all about is there a problem or not.

Worth noting I put my son in the back of the car sliding forward the front passenger seat - I mostly drive alone. I hear theres lots of electrical gubbins under that seat - is it possible this might nbe the cause?

Yep, it'll be the connector under the front passenger seat thats just a little lose. I have exactly the same with the wifes 1.8. When it goes off we just move the seat back and forth and the warning goes.

I'll get round to fixing it one day!!!

Guide to fix it. Costs about £4-5, takes less than an hour to do and most of thats just waiting for the cleaner to dry.
