Stilo key

When i got my car it only came with one key, it looks new so i asume its the spare and the original got misplaced.

So i have one flip key, id ideally like a spare, im just wondering how much these are to get from the dealer.

I wouldnt mine a normal (non flip, without buttons) key just to be used as the spare. Is this possible? as i can imagine it would be a much cheaper option.

The spare key is a normal none flip key without the button buttons. Not sure how much they are.

Ill as at Fiat how much a replacement spare would be.

I wonder if a good locksmith would cut and code one

you can't get the key from anyone except fiat. a locksmith cannot cut or code one for you. in ireland, the non flip non remote key is about 200 euro, and the flip remote key is nearly 300.

Hmm, as i suspected then, ill drop into fiat next week and order a spare

Well, i called into Fiat today ...

For the normal, non remote key, its £160!! And for the flip key its £250!

Bit steep!

Ive got the flip key, but its missing its spare, £160 for a key is madness!

Can I change the battery of the key by myself? I have two of those button-keys and would like to use the other one as it's brand new. But it doesn't work, so perhaps it's just in need of a new battery, even if it's probably never been used? There seems to be some locking system but I don't dare to open it before asking

Yes you can change the key fob battery easily.


If yours looks the same as this one then with the metal key open just turn the small lock screw 1/4 turn and the battery carrier can then be removed

Aww, crap! I bought a Stilo a week ago from a FIAT dealer, it only came with the flip key. They said they didn't have a spare but it would probably only cost about 25 quid to get one. I suppose they were trying to get me out of the showroom with the car before I insisted on having a spare and making them pay for one.

When i bought my stilo from a Vuax dealer - i INSISTED it had 2 keys, he told me it did etc. As i was going i asked for the spare he said he didnt have it.

I handed him back the keys and said i dont want the car then .

As you can imagine he shat himself at losing a sale so agreed to get me a spare from fiat over the road
