Stilo rear wiper

My rear wiper has seen better days, so while i was at Fiat collecting a new part, i thought id price one up.

£26!!! Does that come with the arm i asume? Why do you need the arm and not just the blade?

That seems a lot for a rear wiper.

Any ideas? or just pay the £26?

Thanks.

Re: Stilo rear wiper

Just buy a new rubber refil from Halfords or any car shop, only costs about a fiver, thats what I did as blade is a special part that only Fiat seem to supply

Re: Stilo rear wiper

Get the proper refill from www.shop4parts.co.uk as I did.

Some refills don't work properly and smear like mad - so best get the correct one

Re: Stilo rear wiper

i re-rubbered the existing arm and had enough left over to do the saxo which uses the same design (only smaller).

Cost

£2.50 for a length of rubber from a motorfactors

Yep Halfords rubber refill is the way to go. Have used this method since new except for the latest change where my big fat hands broke the wiper arm fitting the refill, so new arm it was.

Re: Stilo rear wiper

Thanks for that

I had a new wiper in the garage, i got it for another car but it was too small.

So i took off the rubber, cut to size, inserted the metal spring strips from the old rear wiper and fitted it. Looks and works like new now.

Nice cheap fix!

Re: Stilo rear wiper

On a side note, i really like the way the rear wiper speed depends on how fast you have the front wipers going.

Even the intermitent adjustment on the front wipers effects the rear wiper.

That is a great idea!

Yep but it's also something you need working properly on the Stilo as that back window attracts a lot of dirt.

Surprised you guys got away with using seemingly any old wiper refill. Several I tried, didn't provide a perfect wipe (slight smearing) until I fitted the proper Champion refill (post #3)

Yes its a nice feature, ive just been out in the rain trying it out

The wiper i used was a new wiper i got from VW, cut it down and inserted the rubber into the stilo wiper. It works perfectly on the stilo. Nice and simple to fit too.
