Red led stop blinking

Hi guys

When I lock the car with the button on my key, indicator (red led) flash just once, and after that indicator doesn't blinking, which was the case until yesterday. When I unlock the car with the key (not button) and open the door, alarm start screaming, which is mean that alarm system is OK.
What's the problem?

Thanks in advance

Re: Red led stop blinking

Hi mate,

If you mean the little red light on the fob keeps flashing after you have pressed it, the battery is low and needs replacing (in the fob that is!)

Re: Red led stop blinking

So you're saying the red led doesn't flash or does flash after locking the car? On Stilos without alarms it DOES flash.

What alarm have you got fitted?

Re: Red led stop blinking

mine flashes, however car can throw a wobler and start it flashing after it locked the doors itself on the speed lock thing. Usually this stops flashing on next lock.

Arg, I don't know. I bought Stilo last year in Italy (1.9JTD, december 2003, model for 2004). Probably it has factory alarm. Is it possible to see which type of alarm is fitted on my car?
Red led flash just once, when I press the lock button, and after that there is no continous blinking, but alarm still working, because when i open the door with key (not unlock button), alarm start screaming. Two days ago, red led stopped continuos flash after locking. Why?

You've got me on that one but if the alarm works anyway is it worth bothering about

Type "factory alarm" into Search and you should find lots of info on the subject.

You may notice I made a big effort to retrofit the factory alarm and failed so consider yourself lucky

Re: Red led stop blinking

I had a similer problem with mine a couple of years ago and got the garage to look at it whilst it was getting serviced. It turned out to be a loose connection, which they fixed. That lasted for about a week when I had to take it back because it had stopped flashing again. I think they fixed it properly that time 'cos it ain't caused me any probs since.

Arg, what if some thief consider that my car haven't alarm or maybe is broken-down, and try to steal them? They probably will make a some damage (brake the window, pick a lock...), and you agree with me that it will be more expensive then fix the problem with red indicator.

Kirbs,
Where I can find that connector? Is it in the door, or...?

Looks like its door card removal time for you dear boy, or at least that's where the problem was with mine. Whilst you're at it why not upgrade your front door speakers and do a little soundproofing as well, you know it'll make sense in the long run!!

Re: Red led stop blinking

My LED has proved a little tempramental on occasion. Sometimes when driving around as normal, it'll start flashing with the central locking not activated. It's not happened much recently though and I wouldn't consider it a major problem.

I just consider it another of the characterful features of RGZ

This is fairly common although it's down to the driver rather than any fault on the car.

Basically the lock button is very close to where you put your thumb when starting the car (especially if done in a hurry).

I've lost track of how many times I've done it
