Hey there everyone,

Not been on the site for a little while and all traces of the previous thread about the above seems to have vanished. Anyway, I will copy any of the below for anyone who is interested (many happy customers already):

GB & Ireland 2004/5 (latest CD)
France
Benelux
North Italy/Switzerland/South Germany

The idea is I save up all the contributions of £15.00 to fund the purchase of the latest GB cds when they come out. The non-UK ones I'll ask less for, only a couple of pounds as I have obtained them free and only need to cover the costs of the cd and postage.

For anyone interested in the latest updates, please get in touch. It's best to email me directly at [email protected]

There was a Connect unit on ebay recently but they are expensive. You won't be able to put a connect unit in because your car won't have the wiring and it would be more hassle than you could imagine to fit it.

Hi Boywonder

Have you any copies for Belgium?

Cheers Muttley

Hi All

Does anyone have Boywonder's email address - The link doesn't work

Excellent Service, received my CD works perfectly - Many Thanks

I sure will complain ;)
mind you, this is all new to me anyhow so its gonna take me a while to figure out exactly what I have got and how the hell to use it, next years cd will be out by then :)
Do I get a years subscription or something ?
and if so ,(call me thick) whats it a years subscription for ?? lol
Do I get some kind of phone with it ?
I did say it was new to me...
strange thing is, I was just so determined to get the Abarth whatever, I didn't bother finding out exactly what else I get.. according to one of the fiat option books i have, the car should have Abarth mats in, which i hope they don't forget.

Ok, and no probs with questions!

The CD-Rom is basically the latest update to roads in the UK for the SATNAV. It is up to you whether you upgrade when each disk comes out [it was bi-annual BUT now may be annual!], but they soon go out of date. I think if you register with Navteq, you are allowed ONE free upgrade disk.

The subscription is for the CONNECT service, based in Milan. You need to register using a form at the dealer, and get one years free subscription [well, you do with the Ulysse] - this is like a concierge service - you press green button on dash, it sends a text to them, they phone back and you request anything - nearest B&B, cashpoint machine, traffic conditions, etc. I am not sure the cost to renew, though, although I am not bothering, tbh.

You also have to supply a SIM card for the onboard phone. This is also needed for CONNECT services, because number goes on registration form. This phone can be PAYG or contract, the choice is yours.

See, simple :)

Thanks for that Stuart.
Just a couple more questions if you don't mind..
Each time I want to go to a place using the sat nav , say i wanted to go to Upton Park for example, do I have to pay for it to tell me how to get there, if I wanted a step by step guide all the way there will i need to be connected permanently or does the cd cover all that ?
Am I correct in saying that the connect service is for people with busy lives that do a lot of miles and need to get places in a hurry ?
And for someone like me ( just need the car for around town and the odd trip away with the family) then the cd will be fine ?
Thanx for your time..

SatNav is totally free, it is not a pay service! All the road data is on the CD-R.

At all times, you can look at the screen and see exactly where you are! Then, if you decide to put an end address in, type it in, and the navigator will guide you - if you go off course, i.e. I find local knowledge and common sense prevails, the navigator will recalulate for you.

I agree, the CONNECT subscription service may not suit everyone! Ours is about to expire on the Ulysse, used it twice, and I didn't even bother registering it with the Stilo.

Wow thanks for the fast response ;)
getting well excited now... I only test drove the manual Abarth and I was having problems with the gear changes as they are so different to the focus..
I was doing about 50 in third when i went to change up to fourth...lol i went down to second instead and the car just flew the Fiat guy didn't know the car was as fast as that :)

Sounds about right; I find I can just about hit the 60 mark, or a tad under, in second with the Selespeed, before the lurch up into 3rd gear and ever upwards.....

I do find box quite jerky in morning when cold, but doesn't take long to warm up.

Can't wait now for the CDA kit and remap ;)

Hmmm, think we are gonna slight OT but oh well......

I am having fitted a BMC CDA carbon dynamic airbox - basically, an induction kit ramming more air into the engine! This is being done together with a fuel software remap from Angel Tuning [see ad] - overall, bhp should increase from 170 to just under 190, with increased torque as well.

Insurance! Discussed this with them about part of it, about £50 hike, which I can live with. See FAQS on Angel Tuning website for more info ;)

0-60 - hard to tell, the 5-door is 8.9 per book. Nige and I will be running 'before' and 'after' runs, including quarter-mile, and this place will be the first to know those results. Tbh, I have no idea what we are going to achieve, but the engine has a lot of scope........
