my connect system on a fiat stilo multiwagon, has completely packed up, losing all of the functions, for the phone radio set up computer trip etc, my fiat deale says the units are irrepairable, and would have to be replacedb ata cost of £1500, has anyone come across this problem, and is there a repair that can be done, my fiat deale says even when sent off for repair, because they are out of the car they will not function anyway, due to ecu lock down tyhe unit is made by magneti marelli of italy

Please describe the exact fault. Is the screen black, or do you just get the Fiat Logo at startup etc. I can fix quite a few problems with them.

there is no life at all just a black screen, nothing works
there is nothing illuminated, the fiat deale says the unit is completely defunct, i have removed from car, but the speaker leads do not seem to be connecting to the speakers, so cannot even fit an ordinary radio for the time being, does anyone know if the connect unit switches the speaker leads when its in use, thanks bren

The Connect Nav+ unit uses standard ISO radio connectors for speakers and power. Another stereo will plug strait in and work (I had one fitted before I replaced my CN+ unit). Why do you think the speakers do not connect?
First thing to check if the CN+ unit is completely not functioning is the power to it. If you can plug another stereo in and it powers up OK, then the CN+ is faulty. If the new radio has no power then you have a problem with the wiring in the car.
Here is the pinout for the connectors

Connectors A and B are standard ISO pinout on the CN+ and will plug into most aftermarket stereos.

a new stereo wont work directly. remember theres no ignition feed so you can join live and ignition together it shud b fine

im sorry if this is a stupid question but have you checked your power feed to it? fuses? possibly even earth

the speakers shouldnt make a difference. if this all happened all of a suden it may be one of them. go to an ice dealer and tell them to test if everything going to the unit is working fine reminding them theres no ignition feed. they can usually do this with a small battery and multimeter. if it is then i would start 2 wry about repairing but finding out the fault would be my line of thought

I've got AR logo at start up and all the time. This was after unsuccesseful update from FW 11.2 into 12.3 on my Navi unit Magneti Marelli C141 fiat drawing 156068727.Can you advice something more than:burning new disc or disconnecting battery, or using key button 3-4-5-6 forward (used in AR).Flasher program do not even start (Cd module motor doesn't turn of disc).Anybody can advice?
