How to get Radio to turn off with ignition

Hi, read the radio book & followed the instructions on page 49, but I still can't get the radio/cd to go off & come on with the ignition. Its not very clear in the book. All I want is for it to go off with the ignition, not stay on in its 20 mins mode when you take the key out. Pls tell me what am I doing wrong ? Thx

Its in the menu, a simple on/off option, might also be a time definition for how long it stays on. Mrs Ffoxys radio goes off with the key in her 1.2 Active so it can be done.

Stilo radio

I replaced my Stilo battery and to my surprise the radio still worked without having to use the code. However it does not work through the ignition. I have to switch it on and off manually. Any ideas on how to fix would be most appreciated.

Re: Stilo radio

Because I'm a relative newby and can't find how to do in the proper Forum. Sorry, still can'f find how.

The damn radio is missing one major function to be complete.

To make the radio stay off when you "turn on" your car, and at the same time shut the radio off when you "turn off" the car. (In between there you have ofcourse turned on the radio - at the exact moment you wanted, and want it to shut off with the car, and not on with the car.)

A agree Morten, a 3rd option would be useful, but having now fitted an after-market radio I've come to realize it's quite handy to have the radio stay ON when the engine is turned OFF.

For example when dropping someone off and then waiting for them to return it's nice to have the radio stay on.

It's the old story of not being able to please everybody......

Hehe, we can't have whatever we want. But, I am very pleased with the CAN connected Visteon HU in all other ways. I have a Siemens Carkit handsfree fully connected, and if I was waiting (as you say) for someone and the radio is off, it automatically turns on if I receive a call, stating "phone" in the display. Ignition off, it still works. Then when I end the call (or the call is ended by the caller), the Visteon turns off aswell. After 30 minutes or so, the power to the Carkit is shut down with the phone. The phone turns on automatically with the ignition, accompanied with the HU.

Hi, i recently added on my punto blaupunkt CD like this

and i have a problem, i don't know how to activate the auto ignition mode. It has power all the time, but it doesnt start when i start the car and it doesn't turn off when i switch off the car. I tried to hold the menu button, but on this model it starts to "scan" and that's all. Is there another way to get in the second menu, or there is not auto on/off on this model?

thanks
