Hello,

Well after paying out £1200 to keep my Stilo on the road, I managed to grind the entire passenger side against a wall in a car park... :bang:

The seals aren't broken, so I have decided that after popping out the dent, it should be ok to do a fill and a respray (I don't need a perfect finish, just enough to make it a little less noticeable!)

I problem I have is that I checked the local Halfords and they don't stock the correct colour. The colour is a dark navy metallic finish, which looks more purple in sunlight. Does anyone know if I can get a decent match, probably from a different car make? There are quite a lot of Fords that have a similar colour...

Any help would be appreciated.

Any halfords or similar spray can will look crap, especially if it is metallic, even if it is the right colour for the car.
I would get it professionally done, or get the correct touch colour if you are determined to go down that route.

Do you mean they don't have it on the shelf or they cant mix paint to your paint code? You should have the paint code on a sticker on the underside of the bonnet. Ask one of the bigger halfords with a paint mixing facility to mix that colour for you.

Paint shops can usually match up the re-spray. When someone dented my front corner I took it to a paintshop and they sorted everything! Didn't even need any details from me about the color!

Actually thinking about it, is the color not on that metal plate under the bonnet?
