Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

I dont see what is so illegal about them? i went to my local mot centre. and had them leveled. and they aren't blinding to oncoming traffic.
i fail to see the problem with them myself?
the guy i got them from was english. had 1000+ feedback.
personally cant complain

Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

They'd only be illegal if used on UK roads of course (a common disclaimer).

Any chance you have a link to the eBay seller ?

I grant you he does clearly state "100% Road Legal" and certainly has very good feedback.

Intriguing

Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

The pictures of the beam patterns i put shows why the are obviously illegal. Download the links also i put and you will see even the science behind the arcs of the two to see why they are so different. I had decided to stick to halogen since the cost of factory xenons after i bought the car wasnt worth putting them so i changed my halogen bulbs for Philip New Vision and got a slightly more whitish clearer beam.

I have seen the aftermarket xenons and im not pleased with them. THe factory takes into consideration the xenon transformers would have on the rest of the system (dont forget xenon needs thousands of volts to work) some users have reported problems with this interference with aftermarket ones.

In addition in case of a emergency which you might have to show your brights real quick usually the aftermarket take a couple seconds to do that. i see this as a safety hazard.

In an emergency where i needed bright light instantly, i wouldnt twist on dipped beam anyway. i would flash my full beam lights...wouldnt anyone else?

Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

Surely you could purchase the xenon headlight shells/casings from Fiat and put a set of H7 Hids in, thus making them road legal? Of course this may affect the light patterns of the other bulbs within the headlights!!

Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

that would be the ideal situation if you can get your hands on some second hand xenon fixtures. Unfortunently here in greece not alot of people got a xenon kit to look in the scrapes. TO be honest ive only seen 2 in our club.

Re: Fitted my Xenons..Heres How

I've been following this thread for a while, but to be honest look at those pics on page 1, the halogen bulb is brighter than the HID. Also the HID is showing blue light, which if we go back to school days and filters, blue would make the light less intense, meaning darker.

As mentioned the HIDs are illegal and to be honest you have bought a cheap imitation from Ebay. LOL. So what the seller says is the gods honest truth, come on he's a business man, if he put non road legal, cheap imitations that create unwanted glare etc, would you still buy from him? Guessed not.

HID aftermarket kits have dropped down in price and tarting them up in posh boxes to make them look expensive is just sale tactics.

If you want HIDs, upgrade to factory fit Xenons.

I can't agree with you more, Coyle. As long as you're happy and they pass an MOT, there ain't nothing wrong with them You did the right thing, you fitted them and then got them tested at an MOT station to make sure they're legal, so there can't be anything wrong with them.

People just need to be aware that not all HID conversions are going to turn out quite so well and that people and especially the police take a dim view of being blinded by oncoming cars on a dark night...

Thanks mate! i know people are welcome to their opinions and all that malarky. but i got them checked over, so they can't be that bad. they are very bright. but i wanted to make sure they weren't blinding. i didnt fancy gettin flashed at by every car
