Hiya, just put an HID xenon conversion kit in my stilo today, looks awesome except when I washed the car I noticed that there was a bit of condensation within the headlight. It's getting on my tits and was wondering if anyone has experienced this and how to stop it. It does go away but takes a while..

Cheers
Tom

looks like from where you drilled a hole in the back cover for the wiring harness, you didnt seal it properly.

pop the cover off for the condensation to evaporate (maybe use a hairdryer or heatgun too), then put it back on and seal around the hole for the harness, maybe use a rubber grommet, or silicone sealant.

if you didnt install it by making a hole in the back of the headlight cover then im talking poop and ignore me :p

Hello,
I had the same problem, I left the light covers off and left the car parked with all the lights (head lamps, fogs etc) on to heat it up, it took a bit of time but touch wood it hasnt come back, also when putting the covers back on I put vasaline around it to seal it..

Ok cool, will give that a go over the weekend and hopefully itll go because its pissing me off!

Hi

I have a fiat stilo abarth 2002. i am thinking of converting them to xenon lights. can you tell me how easy it was to do it. are your bulbs also H7 size and it would be great if can you email me some pictures of how you've done your wiring etc but & also see pictures of them working in daylight & night time. If possibble if u can email me the pictures to [email protected] i would really appriciate it.

Kind Regards

Dee :)

same one i bought mate. took them ages to send because they didnt have stock, they also didnt reply to emails till a week later, and lied saying that they did email me................once.

and dont install the LED sidelights, because a) the stilo doesnt like them, b) they stay lit for a minute when the car is off due to CAN activity.

although if you faff about with resistors, both the above will go away.

ordered my kit on weds/thurs, cant remember which. and they came yesterday! and they have replied to all my emails. must be under new management :p
and what you mean the stilo doesnt like them? the only reason im changing them is because i want nice crisp bright white headlights, n crap yellow sidelights. but i dont want them not to work

It might be easier to just get replacement upgraded H7 bulbs like the H7 Philips Power 2 Night GT-150 (pair) whch are actually really good in my opinion and then get some white sidelights to match.

Are a good place to go and they even have a car configurator which will offer straight replacement bulbs or upgrade bulbs for all of the Stilo's lights. Alot easier than fitting a HID system.

Out of interest, don't HID systems have to have self levellers to stop you blinding other drivers?

they never seem to make that much difference from past experienced. thought i'd give the HID's a go. nothing to lose

Fair enough, I guess it's a personal preference thing (y) For me, the Philips GT-150's were a huge improvement over the original H7's.

It might be worth looking into the self leveling thing as I'm not sure whether it'll cause you problems further down the road, although I could be talking out of my arse :D Is that part of the HID kit you've got? The self leveling part... not my arse...

Good a link there Greggars (y)

It's fair enough upgrading standard bulbs (as you suggest) but in my view the standard twin running lights are one of the best features of the Stilo.

....but spending money to devalue your car (MoT fail) seems rather suspect to me.

I've got +50% fitted and they seem fine to me

one of my friends had a HID kit on his car and had to take it off because they were to bright and high. It was like driving with full beams + on
