Finally, picked up my car... JTD MultiJet

Yes, finally, JTD MJet is here.

I piceked her up yesterday afternoon, drove arround for about 100 km...
car is beautiful, drives like hell. The only problem is, as somebody stated here already, the car hide the real speed so good, that you really need to check your speed on regular bases.
I'll be posting some reports in, I need more time to adopt (I use to drove petrol engine till now).

Soon to own a 5dr Dynamic MultiJet
(Metallic Black, 16 inch alloys, Leather Steering Wheel and Gear Knob,HiFi Upgrade - sounds GREAT)

Easiest way to not worry about your speed, is to set the speed warning 5-10mph over the national limit, that way you won't ever get caught speeding.

Anyone noted how smokey the Stilo Diesel is under hard acceleration. Its lucky the exhaust turns down at the end, or all you owners would see the beltching fumes! ;)

53 plate, Stilo 3-door, Sassy grey, Alloys to follow, 1.2 Active, 5-Disc CD-Changer -- 45mpg!

You see, StiloBoy, I haven't seen a Multijet release any smoke at all (even when cold), and it runs really fast.
Even driving very hard, I still have 40mpg. (That's yours favorite item to discuss), and almoust twice power of stilo 1.2 ... [^]

So, if ever she spit some smoke, I'll gladly go over it remembering the power and economic this beauty is providing me with. [}:)];)

Yes, I can attest to the fact that the new Multijet is CRAZY. Under full throttle it´s about as fast as my 1.8, but driving it is a a great experience. It pulls in just about EVERY gear! I´m getting a new multijet in about a month or two (not sure when they build it) and I´ll report my experiences then.

Nice try Stiloboy...

I´ve told before that modern diesels don´t do that, unless you´ve got something wrong with the engine

You´re just jealous[8D]

Agreed :D
It runs as quietly as my 16v and it really feels like a spaceship at 220 km/h. And it gets better economy at full throttle than the 1.2 gets with normal driving. Beat that :D. Really, the Fiat JTD engines are fabulous.

Problem is guys, your not following your car! They all smoke, you just can't see it from the drivers seat! :p

Oh and even though diesels cars have good mid-range punch, a decent 16v motor is just as good but higher in the rev range. I kept tight up the ass of a Golf GT TDI the other day, easily not even going over 5000rpm. Granted a TDI can be made to be very quick, and done lots cheaper than a petrol model.

Oh and i average 42mpg when i hammer my Stilo, so an average 40mpg sounds less than impressive to me when you pay £5000 more for the car, and 2p a litre more for fuel. ;)

Yeah Diesels are good, but the smaller engined Stilo's have their own benefits.

I've followed my car many times and not noticed it smoking!

I'm not saying the 1.2 is cack, but my mate had a golf GT TDI 130 and the is NO WAY you would keep up if he was trying.

Oh I average 50mpg btw and round here diesel and petrol is the same price[xx(]

Was it the felicia vRS? Thats a beast, shame it looks cack:D

My lass has a new Corsa with a 1.3CDTI engine (same as punto MJET) and that is a really impressive motor, much quicker than it appears on paper (thought by no means fast) and very economical, its also quieter and smoother than my Stilo.
