225 on Blades?

i've had a little search but i cant find a straight answer

does anyone know if 225 (specifically 225/40/17) will fit on the Blade alloys?

i've heard of people running 225/50/16 on Coupe alloys when standard is 205/50/16 so i'm assuming they should fit okay? but i don know how wide they are? 7 or 7.5J?

Thanks,
Ry

Is it not 215/45's for both Blades and Claws?

yes, as far as i'm aware.

just wanted some extra width ()

response from Dax was they fit but there was too much overhang for his liking, i may try them, unsure yet

Re: 225 on Blades?

Actually Dax is right, the tyre place where I went to, to fit my Claws and replace two tyres with the Ultrac's, mistakenly fitted a 225 and a 215, the 225 looked ok but the 215 suits them perfect!

In the end it all comes down to personal opinion!

Re: 225 on Blades?

if you want 225 go 225/45 as they are a common size and will give you a better price plus if you upgraded from 16s they are a better match rolling circumference
