Thumbs up Headlight Bulb Change

Just want to say thanks FIAT Forum for the help on the difficult job of changing the bulbs! lol. Did a search on how to replace the dipped beam bulb and it was very helpful!

It seemed many people were split between taking the whole bumper apart and then taking the headlamp out itself and to just removing other parts in that area. As i had to replace the drivers side bulb i just removed the top bult from the water bottle and slid it away so that it gave a little more room. I then removed the headlamp cable and then the plastic plate to get to the light. This took ten minutes to replace and i just wanted to note that if anyone needed to replace it on drivers side that this was pretty easy to do. it just seemed a lot less hassle than taking everything apart.

Also i would look into other places for bulbs...i just went to my FIAT dealer to get the bulb as i had no time to go anywhere else but i payed £10 for it! dunno if this is any good but thought it was pretty steep...im sure you could get it cheper else where! and someone said that FIAT may do the replacement free, so ask them as you never know!

Everyone was right though!! my hands are cut to pieces! lol

Thanks again! hope this helps someone too!

Re: Headlight Bulb Change

Buy one get one free on Super Brilliance Halfords bulbs. £3 fitting. Tbh it was worth the three pounds for the comedy!

Took them 15 minutes to change the drivers side, then a further 10 to work out how they were going to attempt the nearside. Then "you're going to have to take that to Fiat mate..."

Genius!

(WARNING, INTENTIONAL INNUENDO)

Came back home, wheel arch liner off, hand up, slotted out, then bam back in. Changed in 5 minutes. Job's a good 'un

Re: Headlight Bulb Change

i went to halfords in york, they showed me there folder that said DNA (do not attempt).

i then went to halford in selby, they took the covers of the back and realised they werent able to do it

i went to work, pulled up in stores under the heat lamp (was middle of december), mmmmmmmmm, heat

removed the batery cover, did all the parts with the washer bottle etc , lights in within 10-15 minutes (as i have small hands) , and then covers were the fiddliest things to get back on, took me 10 minutes for them

lights changed by me in 30 minutes roughly without removing anything to fiddly
