Can anyone tell me if there are any known problems with ths stilo arbarth im about to purchase one which is the semi auto version with panoramic view

As Matt said there are plenty of posts on faults with the abarth ..read carefully and buy one at your own peril the car is nothing special and quite troublesome and not worthy of carrying the abarth badge :)

I couldn diasgree more i love mine and id say buy one. Mines on a 04 plate with the sat nav leather seats and sky roof. I love it to pieces! When driving it you feel like you are in a good car and nothing else matters.

People have good experiences with Stilos and bad. My 1.6 was nothing but trouble these last few months, but yours was ok. The same will be said for the Abarth.

The only advice I'll give is try to avoid Selespeed if you can't afford big bills as it can be a costly system to repair.

JTD remapped :D

i cant fault my car, and even though it has had little problems - what car hasnt :p

it looks good, handles well enough, costs me quite little to run (insure - £1300, and just got me 653 miles on one tank :D).

its also a very well decent enough specced car (y)

Morning all

I to have just purchased a Abarth auto and a little nervous of what to expect but 3.5k for a 03 with 60000 miles mint cond, 250 fully comp as well is cheap for a car of this spec. Im no boy racer so it will get treated with respect :). Pick it up wednesday so we shall see..

Dave newbie:D

Dave well done I hope she runs well for you, youll have to put some pictures up on the site!

Toady as others have said do a search on here there have been pleanty of threads about the Abarth and its problems, but a well looked after Abarth will be no less reliable than anything German!

Well I'm an old boy racer and have just bought a manual abarth.
Gear control is part of the driving experience as far as I'm concerned.

I refuse to grow old gracefully but I don't want to feel like I'm driving an 'Atom' so the Abarth should suit my requirements I hope.:D

Well?

Hello,
Im new to the forum. I currently have a '02' 5 door (joys of having 2 children!!) stilo abarth with sky roof, leather etc etc.I have had it for over 3 years. The only problem I have had was with the climate control mechanism that makes the air go to either the floor or the windscreen (repaired under warrenty). I think the silly speed gear box is a bit like marmite, 'love it or hate it.' Myself and my children also look forward to the varying warning messages and beeps (there always false)when the cars first started in the morning, it does add a bit of excitment to the day, lol. I think it probably the best car i have bought just for the sound, lol. I must admit I do keep extending the warrenty just to cover the gear box as it probably is it weakest part of what is a lovely car.
I have also found my Fiat dealer to be very good and when I purchased it I got a very good deal on the major cam belt service (last year.)
As I said before I love it and wouldnt be without it (not that its probably worth much now any way!!!)
Thanks
Nattyfatty

Well Finally picked her up saturday after trouble with the bank. To say im surprised is an understatement, i love it !!!!. Auto box is as smooth as silk and learning to drive it manually is coming on nicely. Every toy works, hard to keep my eyes on the road with that lot.(y) Hitting 27.8 mpg on the trip thing with a mixture of playing and cruising what more can i say :D Well here's to a big carbon footprint, well till i run out of money but its smiles per pound for a while !!!!

Know to cruise the posts on service's, cambelts and pollen filters

But why? JTDm in standard form is nearly as quick as a 1.8 and will keep up with the Abarth with a remap. Think I can put up with it sounding chuggy at tickover for the positives over the petrol in nearly every other aspect.

getting cheaper insurance is a bargain on top of it all.

Of course the Bravo multijet is the same as it's petrol sister with group 10 for the 150bhp sports.
