Hi Guys,

I have put this question in the ICE forum, but I'm not getting any replys and I want to do it tonight! Can anyone help?

I've got a new Kenwood 2-din radio and not sure how to go ahead and fit it. Does the cage go in first or the new fascia, how does it attach to the dash? Anyway...

Hi guys,

Right, I’ve been looking at all my new parts and I can’t seem to work out how they will all go together and stay in place in the dash! I expect it will all come clear once I take the old unit out, but I could do with some guidance.

Which order does everything go in?

It the fascia first, then the cage and then the HU?

I can see how the facia attached to the dash with clips and screws, but how does the cage attach, form looking at it, its just going to be loose and slip around?! I think the standard Stilo cage is screwed in.

Any advice anyone!!?

Cheers
Matt

I would have thought clips or screws but i haven't changed mine so not sure. I would try and put the cage into fascia loose then attach the two together to the inside of dash.

sorry dude, havent been online in a bit due to university course work. rite i have no idea wat cage or fascia youve got as it mite have its own way

but generally, you fit the cage into the fascia first and twist all the wee bits coming from it to make it stay in the fascia. you then slide the head unit into the cage and you either screw the fascia to the cage or it clicks in, then when youve got it al done the trim shud just clip onto the head unit when its fully installed

and since you got a cage you may need to remove the fiat OEM one, if the cage fits inside then fiat cage then leave it! as this will help support the unit a lot

good luck, if youve ne trouble just post

Fascia goes in first, then Kenwood cage. Bend the `tabs` nice and tight.

You`ll need to get an ignition feed from the fusebox. There is one that stays on for approx a minute. It`s the same one that powers the windows, switch illumination etc
