After 6 months ownership of the stilo, I have decided to part company with it.

It is all down to cost. I am paying £250+ a month on finance, insurance and petrol, etc... I am looking at getting a house, mortgage and stilo would take a considerable chunk out of my monthly wage. Leaving me not much for anything else

I didnt engage brain when I sat inside it and turned it over and heard the engine . I also wasnt planning on moving out

It has been a great car to drive and I have loved every minute of it(y)

I will probably make a considerable loss on it as prices on autotrader seem to be peanuts:(

Thanks to everyone who have answered my questions and put my mind at ease when I have heard some funny noises :p

May go back to a stilo in a few years. Once I get money behind me and can live of something else other than 8p noodles :p

It would need to be a diesel:D

Oh no.. another 5 door!!! totally agree though, ive recently been looking at the property market and realised all this spending on the car and being out and about would be very difficult as well as having my own place... but will have to bite the bullet sometime...

might have to get myself a little cin or punto for under a grand...

Sorry to hear this Gaz. You're quite right, a car is just dead money so it's silly to invest more than you can easily afford.

Don't go from the fire into the frying pan though

Property is looking like it could get dodgy with a big fall in prices so take care (y)

cant go wrong with a cinq, I have had 2 and 1 sei

Just had a valuation for my stilo £4695

Think i will be looking at fully paying of my stilo (got a loan for 3 grand from the aa with 1% apr - quite good), and wait till my insurance drops before i move out.

Houses are to expensive these days. :(

I am on the will with my other 2 sisters of my grandparents house in knaresborough though :D

sorry to read that Gaz, i bought my prestigio around the same time as you got yours. (remember you from "another" forum).

yes, with mortgages and other outgoings, it is quite a frivolous car to have - 20mpg and £500 insurance (i'm 30).

however, it has a great engine note, is great fun with paddles and is very well equipped.

good luck with the sale - shame they are such a niche market car (neither prestige / hothatch / runaround) and thereby have no real value secondhand.

perhaps you'll be back one day.........

Know what you mean Gaz, I'm probably paying that for the Bravo at the moment, thank god I don't need to move out or it may have to go too.

Oh the house wanting i know what you mean. I choose the 1.6 with it in mind that sum day i will be mooving out of my olds soon so i can afford to run it and keep it. Still cant save any money for a deposit tho i spend all my money on my car and booze.

I do love my 1.6 but I am looking forward to the day where I get either an Abarth or a Mazda 3 MPS  Oh yes!! Knowing me ill probably end up with the 150 Multijet which is no slouch either!

You working now then Rich?

I thought you were just a rich student :D

Yep, degree done and now I'm on the Tesco management programme - got instant promotion in my store so it's all good, just going through all my training at the moment, it's a great job and pays well so woo hoo!
