| loves you lots ;) | Does anyone have any advice on fitting an I-Pod connection into my car. Its a Stilo 1.9 JTD Dynamic. It has the standard fit CD Player. I arent very mechanically minded so would probably have to get it done at a garage or somewhere else which would fit a connection for me. I would only really get an Ipod if it could be fitted into my car. Also, how much would it cost me to chip my car up to say 150bhp, and should i expect my insurance to rise with it (this wouldnt be done until the start of next year when i get my bonus).

| Pick a window, your leavin | Re: Fitting an IPOD Not sure about the iPod, someone else was asking recently, but I don't know what the outcome was. Re: Chipping, most people these days go for a remap. Do a search on Stilo JTD Remap, there's plenty of info around these parts. If you're still not sure, there's plenty of the guys here have had remaps, and they come very highly recomended. Just ask around if there's anything you're still unsure about. You'll see on the search results who knows their stuff with remaps EDIT: I get my 5 year comittal bonus in December...funnily enough I have similar plans lol.

| Re: Fitting an IPOD you might as well get a nice alpine head unit with usb entry, a decent one would be around 200-250 quid, and then just get an mp3 with usb connection, SORTED, you'll get much better result

| Re: Fitting an IPOD If you want I-pod connectivity you will need to lose the Visteon unit and get a decent head unit that takes an I-pod adaptor. See my gallery for how I did mine. You can go and get a head unit with an aux connector on the front but the way the law is going at the moment any fiddling with an I-pod whilst at the wheel of the car is likely to get you points/fine. With the I-pod setup all control remains with the head unit/steering wheel.

| ^ me | Re: Fitting an IPOD I use a Harman/Kardon Drive and Play unit for my ipod nano. The ipod is housed in my top glove box and never needs to be touched. It is connected to the standard fit cd player via the aerial jack. The ipod is then controlled using a seperate controller that is mounted to the dash and comes with a screen which mimics the ipod screen. Sound quality is not as good as cd (or mp3 for that matter) but is quite good. I'm really pleased with mine. Cheap and effective solution

| *custom name* | Re: Fitting an IPOD rite well uve a few different ways 2 connect an ipod, ive 2 do this in wrk near every day, lol first is an airplay/itrip, simple wireless FM signal transmitter, find a dead station, tune both ur radio and the iTrip to tht station and it picks up the ipod thru the radio and play thru car speakers pros: no wires, removable, transferrable, can be used for other uses cons: sound quality isnt great, RDS mite want to interfer other option is to get either a Dension or Harman/Kardon Drive and Play unit, but they look quite ridiculous as there is loads of components involved, i like everything to be hid, so a dension kit is pretty good, some radios allow an audio input tho most OEM ones done so you would have to use the one tht plugs into the back of the antenna, sound quality is slightly improved bt stil not as clear as the last option get an Ipod specific head unit, alpine are very good at this, my fav neway, you can get full speed cables which will charge your ipod and have no need to controlling it, as you can do it entirely thru the head unit, can get one for bout 150 but u wil need 2 buy a fascia panel to fin the DIN slot, there are loads of different ones about, just choose a style you like not 2 sure about chipping, but i have seen a few works of the Revo team and theyre getting a lot of power out of european cars, havent seen much done with italian ones tho, watever you do dont buy them cheap ones from eBay, you will regret it! hope tht helps

| ^ me | Re: Fitting an IPOD
Mine doesn't look ridiculous at all. The only components that are visible in my car are the controller and the screen - both of which are meant to be visible. All the crap you don't want to see is hidden away. Dead easy to install too. Ridiculous indeed lol

I have the standard tape stereo and it works well ith the tape adapter but today a guy @ motorworld showed me the CTAFAIPOD001 Connects 2 Ipod Adapter. Its for fiat and on the connects 2 website says its for blaupunkt and its £40 form motorworld ![]() Theres also the fm modulator for fiat again and its supposed to be just as good - part no iconnect-fm iPod Docking Station to FM Modulator
