Hi,

Just picked up my Stilo "Blue" special edition.

Would be garteful for any advice you can offer on the following:-

Bluetooth - When I try and make a connection it aks me for a code, is the dealer supposed to give me the code or is there somewhere on the instrumentation which will tell me the code?

Odometer - We first looked at the car a week ago and it had 5 miles on the electronic display. Since then we have taken it for a test drive and driven it home but the mileage hasn't changed. Is there a manual odometer somewhere in the car which will confirm the mileage? Is the electronic display supposed to tick over mile by mile or does it increase in 5 mile (or other) increments?

Language - the language is set to english on the menu but we are still getting outbursts of italian through the speakers when we start up the car. Do you also get this? Should we be able to change this?

I realise these are probably teething problems which can be sorted out by a trip to the dealership, but there's nothing like feedback from "real people" as opposed to bullsh*t from salesmen who can't be @rsed.

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Thanks,

Mike.

I too have a Stilo Blue Special Addition and have experienced some of the same issues.
My car spoke Italian too and while considering attending night school to learn the language, we decided to have a go and change the settings, and now total silence.

In the documentation somewhere I'd say - "0000" is a common code.

Updates normally on all Stilos I know of. You also have "A" & "B" trips on the on-board computer

Never heard of this - please tell us more :chin:

I would actually prefer total silence to italian!

What about the mileage, does your odometer tick by mile by mile?

Thanks,

Mike.

When driving Junes car I tend to keep my one good eye on the road in front ..but I can tell you that on my 52 reg 1.6 it ticks over one mile at a time :)

Hi Argonought,

Tried 0000 but doesn't work and scoured the docs for any info on this but can't find it, will take this up with dealer. I'll also check the trip computer to see if the mileage shown is in respect of a trip rather than the total mileage done by the car to date.

I'm not sure what it's saying to me but seems to happen every time the car is started. The CD player pauses for a couple of seconds and "phone" comes up on the CD display and then there are a couple of words of italian.

Grateful for any other feedback.

Cheers,

Mike

All problems now sorted, odometer has kicked in and it now has 30 miles on the clock after driving around the countryside today. Italian voice has stopped - think it had something to do with the bluetotth connection and now that I know the code and have sorted that out it has stopped.

I really like this car, I usually don't like driving very much but the stilo makes it a joy to drive, and for the first time ever I actually think about going for a drive just for the hell of it. Even going around multistorey car parks is fun with the "city" mode activated.

We love it and an absolute bargain for £9k. It's a head turner too.

I suppose time will tell if the negative comments in the motoring press come to anything for us.

Hiya

when u got the car, did they not give you a booklet which is for your bluetooth??

The code which you need to enter into your phone is 1234. so you allow your phone to pair up.

hope this helps, enjoy your stilo, as they are so kool!! Also you will learn new gagets all the time with them.

Has anybody found a resolution to the Italian language on the radio? I've had my stilo for nearly 4 years and not found a resolution.. each time i start the car it speaks to me in Italian.

Dashboard is all in English and have previously changed the language to another language and then back..

I have the standard factory Stilo radio/cd player, been through the settings on this also and there are no language options..

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

According to the Stilo Bluetooth handbook supplement, the system only speaks to you in Italian.

Not sure if it works with all phones, but the only thing I can find in the supplement to stop the voice is below.

If you don't have a phone paired with the system, pairing one may also stop the voice asking you to pair one.
