Re: bloody thing

I think that sounds like a damp D4 to me!

Drove through any big puddles lately?

I like guessing what warning message I'm gonna have next so far I've had, ESP/ASR failure, ABS failure, gearbox failure, engine fault but all is fine in Stiloland

Re: bloody thing

my best set off error messages was when it was -6 degrees outside and the car gave me more or less every warning message, even for stuff my stilo doesnt have!

Cool Re: bloody thing

Get your battery checked out as low voltage can bring up error warnings on a regular basis ..also have a look at D4 connection [located under the fuse board on the battery] if its wet or dirty this can give all manor of problems ..

Had similar with the 1.6... JTD starting to throw up odd error messages but know the original battery is on borrowed time at 4 + years old

Re: bloody thing

I wouldn't worry about the undertray too much (you may never have had one in the 1st place).

Best thing is to work on hints already given or give us a bit more info to go on

Re: bloody thing

The 'D4' reference above is to a large connector that lives in the battery area. Check the Stilo guides/sticky messages.

Maybe for starters, just remove the battery and hook up to a battery charger, leaving it overnight. Then clean the battery terminals - you can get a special round wire brush that makes this easy.

I've had some false alarms also for ABS/ASR/ESP, which turned out to be the low battery voltage. 'Loose connection' though is likely to be the D4.

If it seems like there is dampness around the battery, then clean the D4 connector with electrical contact cleaner spray and dry out with a hairdrier or similar. Deckchair5 has a method of sealing it in a plastic bag, but generally if you have a battery cover fitted, it shouldn't be getting too wet.

Cheers,
-Alex
