It's her 3rd MOT

And she passed! 3 MOT's in a row. Tough old birds these Stilos.

Anyway, whilst I was there I noticed a huge high column wall holding the MOT station up I reckon had been knocked completely out. Apparently Ford had dropped a motability (disabled person's car) in for MOT and had just left it outside. 16 year old garage guy used to shuffling cars around for MOT got in but no one had mentioned that the pedals were made opposite way around to normal ie the clutch is where the gas normally is and vice versa.

Anyway, young chap gets in and starts up and shoves his clutch down- only it isn't the clutch -it's the gas- and it's a modifed automatic- with no need to select a gear. Can you imagine? So this Fiesta shoots off across the forecourt at full throttle and the guy still had his left foot wedged firmly down to the floor on the gas - apparently still in denial - when he went flying through the wall

Behind the wall were two very startled MOT testers thinking their time had come

Well I see it the other way around, sorry PNL

Imagine the response of the disabled person, whom chances are is disabled through no fault of their own, when they hear that their specially-made transport is ruined.

Still, I guess it is funny on some level, the 16-year-old certainly had a wake-up call and it was lucky that no-one was hurt! The conversion sounds a little short on safeguards though - in many automatics you cannot move from N to D without a foot on the brake, and in all automatics the engine cannot be started in D which is what it sounds like happened here. You'd have thought that similar safeguards would be applied to special conversions?

My Stilo went through its fourth WOF last week, the first while in my care. There were no problems. The WOF is only once every year until the car is six years old - after that, it will be every six months.

My Uno Turbo just failed its WOF due to the right-front wheel bearing being noisy, and a chip in the windscreen.

Actually Alex I'm disabled myself and the last thing I would do is discriminate against a disabled person ..I always rant at the lazy gits that park in disabled spaces in super markets I was referring to the perfect and fitting end for the ford as we are all fiat lovers on this site

Ah... true

Thanks PNL, I thought that was the case, hence the wink

Besides, as I pointed out before, the conversion could have been done more carefully - someone sooner or later was going to come unstuck with it by the sounds of things!

Whos had a 5 year old stilo pass their Mot...

Whos had a 5 year old stilo pass their Mot with the original exhaust?

I have been told even though my back box is appauling to look at, its actually sound as its dual skinned and not blowing, but it was a warning last time. What are the chances of passing?
