Hi everybody i wonder if someone can put me in the direction of a thread on this forum i read it a while ago now it was concerning a faulty valve or sensor on the top of a Stilo 1.8 dynamic which was causing a rattle around 3000rpm the faulty part was changed and engine was fine after have spent an hour solid and i cant find it, or even if you know as to what item i am trying to trace please help Many Thanks in advance:worship:

Can you remember the name of the part or is that what you need to know ? wanst the variator was it ? shouldn't give you a rattle at those revs but one at start up as it is oil controlled

Thanks for the reply it could be it i have been told that the car has a poor /rough idle any ideas would be apprieciated thanks

The variator is there on the 1.8 for the sole reason of camshaft timing variation and quite often when they go [which seems often of late judging by the posts] will give you a dieseling sound on start up ..its expensive to replace so if you have any warranty on your car get to fiat and raise holly hell like what Rich did ..alternatively [and if it is that that's gone GSR now do a variator that has been re-engineered and is cheaper than the fiat part ..for more info on that send him a pm on here his user name is oldschool

Hi i wonder if someone could tell me how difficult it is to change a camshaft position sensor on a 1.8 dynamic i have just had the AA man out and has diagnosed this item faulty after it showing once he has cleared the fault code and it has come up again as the same fault code is it a dealer fit or simply screw on many thanks in advance

Thank You Very Much Have Now Found The Problem I Did Not Want To Pay For Fiat Garage To Diagnose So Had The Aa Out This Morning Error Code Suggesting That Camshaft Position Sensor Has Gone Any Idea How Easy It Is To Change Please Thanks Again
