Heloo,
I have a 1.6 Stilo and I have a problem with heater fan motor. I've got 4 f31 fuse faults in 1 day. After every fuse fault the heater fan motor stop working. The dealer said that I have to change the motor fan, but it not so sure because I get this faults even when the fan swich is off and the snowflake is turned off.
Any ideas?

I disconected the couple from the heater fan and the problem persists.

A point to note is that power is supplied to the heater all the time the ignition is on. The heater controls provide a path to earth through various resistances to control the speed

Obviously you're getting a short circuit to earth through the heater circuit somewhere. Just work your way through the circuit. Which end do you want to start from?
I'd start from the power supply end
To check the wiring from fuse to relay, pull out the relay T8,
Put in new fuse. Ignition on
Fuse still ok? should be. Now you know the wiring from fuse box to relay is ok

Substitute with a good relay if you have one.

Then disconnect the heater connector until you find which section is supplying the short circuit to earth

Forum's having problems at the moment so I can't supply a wiring diag. Do a search here as i've posted up a few wiring diagrams of the heater circuit in the past

Is there any chance that the cigarette wire in short can do that? I have a feeling about that. Also, I have exactly the same problem and it seems that there's something with my radio as well. Sometimes the radio stops working and the fan as well and sometimes I have the feeling that when I pull my handbrake it also burns my F31 fuse. I am going to check my radio today, because I couldn't find anything wrong with my cigarette wire, but the light on it is not working and I still think that there's a shortcut there somewhere.
I would check both radio and cigarette to see if you can find something.

This topic can be closed. Problem solved. It was a shortcut on my reverse light (that uses the same fuse, F31)
