Technical EOBD Warning at higher speeds [timing belt?]

If they disconnect the battery then that'll reset the ecu - but they may not.
If they clear any fault codes stored then that'll do it too - but they may not:)

You can do it yourself if you want to be sure by disconnecting the battery for few hours

Re: EOBD Warning at higher speeds ideas please --> solved for me

Your guys are awesome...:)
The timing where 2/10 wrong....
Thanks a lot..

Ha! Glad it's fixed:)

But dearie me, another botched garage cambelt change job to a Fiat with no final check on the timing alignment done until after the customer complains.

The mechanic and garage boss should be lashed with the old cambelt and then left to dangle from the forecourt for all to see

hi folks,

i know this is an old thread but im having exactly the same problem. in any gear if i gently increase my speed and therefore the revs...then hold the revs for several seconds above 3000rpm my car (stilo 1.6 16v) starts to hesistate and holding off and finally it goes into limp mode with with the engine light on.

it first started doing it on the motorway as the car is driven with higher revs that are held in roughly the same position.

the problem is increasingly happening now... i replaced the MAP sensor..no difference (left the battery disconnected to reset ecu).

my car hasnt had a cam belt change to of caused this...though the idle isnt totally smooth..just a tiny bit of a hunt.

does anybody know what it could be? possible crankshaft sensor?

car pulls fine otherwise.

many thanks

Sounds more like a coil. Getting a cable to read the faults is a good idea. Mine paid for itself the first time I used it (to replace a coil) It indicated which one was faulty so I was able to order it and then replace.
The crank sensor more usually causes hard starting when hot.

Recently had my cam belt changed and having the same problem with my Stilo 1.6 MIL flashes when rpm is 3250 (120Km/h) on 5 gear. Error codes are P0300 & P0302 last time i checked but it also have had P303 but the engine works just fine and accelerate fine on 3 gear up to max rew when MIL flashes. Tried to rew engine on my parking spot but the MIL didn´t flashed so maybe some other fault?

Was to what you call MOT and in Sweden Car inspection in english and the values for CO and Lambda was perfect so can it still be the timing belt that's off?

Coil have been replaced as the ECU was faulty with p0300 and p0303 + erratic idle when started in cold weather. Plugs has also been replaced to the recommended NGK.

Funny thing for me is that MIL don´t flash when i run the car in 3500 rpm on 5 gear which is 140 Km/h even for a prolonged time and no other error codes then the ones i already described.

What´s your opinion?
