Connect Nav; "In 3/4's of a mile . . ."

Hey

Right, one for discussion. I had an issue with my Connect Nav+ unit where the voice-prompts would be hurrendously out, such as;
(about 400yards to a roundabout); "In Three-Quarters of a mile, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit."
(5 seconds later, about 100 yards); "Take the 2nd exit".
The distance remaining on the screen, however, would always be perfectly accurate.

As you can see, this means it thinks I can travel 3/4's of a mile in 5 seconds, so thats 540mph. Wow.

Now I had the unit replaced with one that had newer internal hardware, and the fault was still there - so NOT a unit problem. Also have tried different map discs (copies of 06/07 and 05/06, as well as an original 03) and no effect.

HOWEVER, if you switch it to metres, it marries up with the display perfectly.

Ideas?

Hello, I found this problem when I upgraded the firmware to 9.8.
The previous firmware(9.7 I think) had no issues with ditances.

I would like to revert to the old firmware but not sure how.

Ah, this was my thinking - something to do with the software version. My bro's CN+ is running 9.9.

My local dealer has a copy of 9.7, may go and get it tomorrow and copy it.

Mine use to do that also, but it doesn't anymore, one day it just went But all is working now

god im still on the 8.3 version mind you think i have only ever used it twice lol.

I'd tell you if mine was doing the same (im on firmware 9.9), but i don't know what the hell 'shes' talking about, pictures are pretty though

note: 'she' being the computer voice person thingy majig.

What do you mean, you don't know what she's talking about?

In an attempt to find the cause, I've set this poll up. Please vote if you have Connect Nav+.

Basically, just go down to what software version you're on, then select if the vocal directions (in miles) are accurate and match what the display says, or not.

Do you have your set up disk to change the language to English ?

Downgraded to 9.7, went round the block . . .

"In half-a-mile (about 200 yards), at the roundabout, straight on".

The newest Alan Kerr had was 9.7 . . . I shall try Grays at Warwick next week to see what they've got.
