Head gasket again?

Last summer my head gasket died. The garage that did the repair didn't bolt everything together properly and took the car for a road test. The end result of this was as though the cam belt had snapped - bent valves all over the place.

Anyway, earlier today I had low oil level warning flash up. So I checked the oil and noticed there was a small amount of creamy sh!te on the dipstick. The water has a little frothy stuff on it which vanishes when cool.
The car is using up water but I have a small leak somewhere - can't find it though.

I was just wondering if this stuff on the dipstick could be residual from last year's disaster, or could it be something altogether more sinister?

Hope I don't have to go through all that crap again.

Re: Head gasket again?

oil should have been changed at the time.
you can get a little mayo with town driving
you can get it tested at a garage with a 'sniffer'
running okay?

Re: Head gasket again?

Yeah, it is now I've replaced all 4 coils. Runs better than it ever has

I have recently moved place of work and it involves alot more town driving. It was mainly motorway before.

Maybe you're right Custard. With the oil level being low, I imagine any mayo will be concentrated and that bit more apparent.

The oil was changed at the time with Selenia, and has all been replaced again since. After they knackered the engine I seem to be getting through ALOT more oil, with no leaks.

I'll top her up tomorrow and keep a peeper on it for a few days. Will get sniffer test done asap.

Cheers Custard
