Service warning

Just a question... My car has almost 19300 km and I was expecting to get a message saying that I have to go for the 20000 km service since I passed the 19000 km. Isn't that right? I thought that the computer warns you about the service 1000 km before the 20000.

Go into your menu you can check it in there.

I had a look at mine the other day and it says 63 days to go.

Depends how hard you drive the car, if you spank it the service will come round quicker!

Yeah, apparently the Stilo 'decides' how frequently it needs servicing, maybe you've been particularly carefull in how you drive yours, do you do mainly long high speed runs for example? this kind of driving is less harsh than lots of stop start.

If your worried though, ask your dealer for advice.

Apparently the countdown clock is set on the day you collect it, it then countsdown to 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

That's how your Stilo decides when it needs servicing. If you look in your menu it will tell you how many miles you have left before a service is required or how many days are remaining! ;)

But apparently it adjusts the period depending on how soon it needs maintenance, mine doesn't work out to exactly 12k

Thanks for the replies...

When I go into the menu (I have set it up to km) it says that I have 700 km until the next service (if I change the option it gives me a couple of hundred days). But I had the impression, after reading the manual and looking at the posts here, that when you are within the last 1000 km before the service (or the equivalent in days if you reach a year of use without reaching the 20000 km) you get a warning message whenever you start the car. That is what I can't see, even I'm only 700 km away from the 1st service!

P.S.: I drive carefully and almost exclusively on the motorway, but I do several thousands of km per month since I live almost 50 km from work.

That is strange James isn't it? I thought that all Stilos are set to have a service every 20000 km (12000 miles) or once per year (if you do less than this mileage per year). Mine when I go into the menu it indicates that I must have the service done in 700 km (20000 in total), I just don't get a warning on the display...

Or may be I'm wrong :)

Anyway the question is: should I get a message on the display or not? If yes I would like to know so I could mention it to the garage...

The book says same as above 20000km or 12,000mi or every year, it goes on to say starting from 2000km or 1,240mi or 30 days the message Service Due will show and then again every 200km ( 124mi ) or 3 days until it becomes perminent on very startup.

its one of those things I never noticed.. did notice it when it said 24days to go...

I'm only 200 km away from the 20000 km service and I never had a warning message about it. I guess that there is a fault here... I'll have to report this fault as well, when the car goes in.
