Re: Oil Pressure Warning light (intermittent)

Try changing the oil and oil filter, worked 99% of the time on my old 1.6... (The other 1% was when the oil level was low )

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light (intermittent)

New oil/filter or new battery. I've had this aswell, but only on hot days (?). After oil/filter and battery change it never came back. So I don't know what cured it... But it was never due to lack of oil.

Morten.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light (intermittent)

I have had this problem before on my 1.6 03, i sussed it out to be the oil thinning over time and has now become a good sign that the oil is due for a change. Same with me it only happens when the car is cold and a restart cures the problem, but as soon as i get them more than twice a week im out there changing the oil, this hasnt failed me yet, its just your old girl telling you she needs some tlc and fresh fully synthetic oil lol.

Fair comment Roy.

...other than if you'd used fully synthetic in fast place then it's not likely to thin is it

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light (intermittent)

Yep, the best thing I've done for mine is to treat it to Castrol Edge 0W-30

I know a few people must think I'm mad (and I had some doubts myself) but it really is fantastic stuff and I'm on my 2nd year with it now.
  • No diesel noise on startup
  • Doesn't use any oil
  • No leaks
  • Revs like a petrol
  • Ready for the Arctic circle
