Stlo Bulb Failure Warning light

Hi I have a 2001 1.9 Jtd Stilo Dynamic which has a Indicator Bulb failure warning light and anoying "beep" every time I prees the brake pedal.
ALL the lights on the car are working fine !!
I have checked and read that sometimes the brake light sensor switch is to blame, can someone tell me where this switch is, do i need to remove all the plastic panel work in the foot well ?
Or is it likely to br another fault causing the warning to come up?
The car is over 2 years old so no more warrentty ( my dealer says) and my service light needs re-setting after I had the 36k service done at a Local Gararge rather than re-mortgage and go to Fiat !
Any help appreciated
Brad

Tell the dealer he owes you a 3rd year warranty! Fiat give you 2 years from themselves direct, and the 3rd year is supplied by the dealer!

Alternatively phone Fiat UK and dob your garage in! After all they are here to serve the public, your not here to serve them!

It should be part of your package, I bought mine through Jamjar but still got it, if you haven't had the info through the post, give FIAT a ring, they should send it out to you.

I am the 3rd owner of the car,( altho first owner was a garage, I think the car was a demo car )
It was my local dealer who said there is only a 2 year warranty the third is quote " depends what the problem is "
When I press the brake peadle I get a dash warning sayin " bulb failure indicator rear"
but as I say ALL the lights are working fine.
I will call Fiat dealer again in the morning

TBH, your dealer sounds like a dick! I've heard of this fault before, a sensor prob I think, which wouldn't really take much for him to fix, a pain in the arse for you tho[:(!]

OK heres the deal...I have called Fiat UK this morning and..Fiat dealers can or cannot charge an " inspection fee" around £30 to check if the fault is a sensor or switch etc, if the fault is in the wiring then its NOT covered in the 3rd year cover ( so you will have to trust your dealer to be honest about what the find )
If the fault is a switch or sensor then it IS covered.
My Stilo was registered Jan 02 so older than most on this form I suspect, so be warned get all your problems sorted out before the 2 years are up !
I have submitted a complaint to Fiat UK regarding the open ended dealer chargers and they said some one will contact me in the next 4 ( Thats four ) days.
Brad
P.S Another anoying problem I seem to get is excessive stone chipping on the front of the rear wheel arches ( stones thrown up from the front tyres as the 205 wide tyres are wider than the sills !! )
