Fuel Saver Worth the Bother?

Hi,

came across this fuel saver on eBay and wndered if anyone has tried it and if so whether it was worth the hassle/expense?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FUEL-SAVER-FOR...QQcmdZViewItem

Seems pretty good value for money, but only if it does what its says on the tin...

I couldn't find any earlier posts relating to this so apologies if this has already been asked.

Re: Fuel Saver Worth the Bother?

So they are in fact magnets which fit around the fuel lines.

I work for a company who makes diesel engines as a development Engineer so know a tiny bit about engine combustion, performance and emissions.

I would be very dubious of them making any difference in actual performance or fuel savings.

Why do car manufacturers not fit them as standard to make the engine perform better and use less fuel ??? (and so be more atractive to customers ?) - - - I am fairly confident that the answer to this question is BECAUSE THEY DON'T WORK.

But feel free to waste your money and then claim they are great and have a good time tripping on a really good placebo.

Re: Fuel Saver Worth the Bother?

this technology has been around for decades - it was used on spitfires - but if it did work it would be standard after such a long time.

they tested it in mythbusters and it made no effect on fuel consumption at all.
