Fuel pump

Is it normal on the 1.2 that the fuel pump's fairly noisy? Not crunching or anything, just the sort of consistent beep sort of sound. Beep's the best word I can think of...but it's not quite a beep. It's been like it since the day I bought it and I've never had any problems, but it's still got me thinking!

Re: Fuel pump

I've never really heard this on my 1.2, is this whilst driving or on tick over?

Re: Fuel pump

Both. It's especially noticable when the car's idling or in 6th.

Re: Fuel pump

it will be more noticeble on idle as thats when the engines at its quietest virtually every fuel injected motor gets this noise its just the pump doing its job im sure anyone who ever drove the old xr3i from ford will agree they were very noisey as long as you dont have any fuel surge or starvation problems i wouldnt worry
