Which Oil for the Abarth

Well ... 3500 miles out of the way - the only problem has been the nearside indicator falling off when I washed the car!! I'm still as happy now as I was when I first saw it rolling off the delivery truck. Only problem is that I've noticed the oil level slowly dropping over the last few thousand miles .. no problems, as expected. But my question is what's people's thoughts on the choice of oil for the Abarth. Personally I'd only ever use magnatec, obviously the Fiat manual has a few pages of sales blurb on Fiat's own prefferered oil supplier... What do you think?

Cheers,
Chris

Take it to the garage and ask them to top it up!

Live life a little, get a Fiat, pick a Stilo, watch it fail, book it into a arsehole dealership, having no repairs carried out, get an ulcer, suffer depression, get a baseball bat, get f**kin even!!!

they would sure put SELENIA FIAT oil cause they put the same thing in all STILO's ... dont know how good is it but hearing some conversations it seemes to be a wise choice.

The Selenia oil was developed by Fiat to reduce the oil consumption on 16 valve engines, which it does effectively. I dont see any reason why it shoudnt reduce your consumption either.
It is early days for your engine and will probably take about another 5000 miles before it is fully bedded in and maximum performance is realised in every respect.Selenia is a fully synthetic motor oil but will mix with semi-synthetic oils. If your vehicle has the factory fitted oil it will be Selenia and you should top up with the same. If your dealer has changed it they have probably used a semi-synthetic oil.

I had my abarth serviced at piccadilly of wakefield who are supposed to be quite knowledgeable & they used magnatec & actually stated as much on the invoice. I've done 16,000 in 18 months & my car used quite a bit for the first 6ish000 miles but has now settled down remarkably, I was told to DRIVE IT from day one & it goes like stink. I have had a bespoke handmade stainless sports exhaust fitted & now it also looks & sounds the absolute dog's B's ENJOY, ENJOY.

Yellow 3 Dr Stilo Abarth. 17" 3 spoke Sports Alloys, CD Changer, Tinted Windows, Custom Exhaust & Full Spec.
