| Connect, on eBay Hi, New here after purchasing a Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD today, just been looking on eBay for a CD player and saw something called a Connect, if someone could answer me some questions about it i would be very grateful :- 1) Is this unit a straight swap for my existing tape/radio, ie leads the same etc. 2) The eBay listing says that they have lost the code hence it only works on twenty minute mode then switches off, does this sound 'dodgy' or could it be true and if so can it be de-coded so it works properly ? and how or who would do this ? 3) The listing also says it needs a different aerial base for the sat-nav to work, again is this an easy (ish) job or a job for a fiat dealer ? 4) (and lastly) The unit does not have the sat-nav disc can these be got from dealers or some other way. ? PS. I presume i can plug a Multi-Changer into the back of the unit ? Thanks for any help that can be offered, i have tried searching for answers to these questions on here but to no avail (apart from the multi changer bit) Thanks again.

The Connect Nav+ unit on ebay is probably fine. It'll only work in 20 minute mode unless the Ignition +12V feed is fed into Pin 4 of the power connector. This feed is non-existent in Stilos that are not equipped with Connect Nav+ from the factory. If you are retrofitting it, your Body Computer won't need the code anyway, as it is not programmed to be asking for one. Please take a look at my Connect Nav+ guide, sticky thread, posts . . . but to answer your questions briefly: 1. No. You need to adapt the wiring of your car by inserting a +12V switched ignition feed into the connectors, as well as modifying the wiring looms for the microphone, and taking the GPS/GSM cables from the dash to the rear of the roof. The cage needs to be changed as well. 2. Thats not what the listing says. He says he has no code and it won't stay on for longer than 20 mins. Read above. 3. To fit this, you need to drop your roof lining. It's easiest on the 3dr, and involves removing A-pillars, B-pillars, C-pillars, handles, lights, side trims . . . (again, see my guide). 4. See my Sticky thread on how to get these. See, aren't I good? ![]() CD Changer; these can be fitted to the back. If you get a 2nd hand one, you will need a Stilo Visteon headunit (CD/Tape) to decode the changer as the CN+ won't read one that has been previously used and coded.
