| O/S Lower Suspension Arm Hi Guys Had the car MOT today and yes it failed on the above even through i had the N/S replaced at the same time as the mot, as i was advised on my last MOT that the N/S arm would need replacing. It also showed a brakes imbalanced of 30% on the fronts, if the O/S lower suspension arm had excessive play would this cause the brake imbalanced due to the wheel moving? Thanks Lee

No not really, that's a very significant difference between the brake's efficiency from one side to the other and more likely due to factors like air in the system, seized caliper, contaminated pads etc If the pads and discs look good then go for the easy one first and bleed the brakes, look for air particularly in the side that is showing the weakest braking power. Does the car pull one way when you brake?

| Re: O/S Lower Suspension Arm Hi Decks It stops in a straight line! its doesn't pull to either side, its was the o/s showing the imbalance according to the tester that done the test saying that my wheels are very very dirty car has been washed in a cpl of months so maybe thats the problem?

| Whaddya mean too old? | Re: O/S Lower Suspension Arm Dirty car? I can't see how that can make a difference but 30% is a big difference, that's almost a whole pad not working properly. Like i said, do a system bleed and check for a seized caliper. Look for pad on one side much thicker than the rest through lack of use (Duh! I'm a thick pad). Usually the one you can't see so well, on the inboard side

| Re: O/S Lower Suspension Arm Hi Guys Quick update, had the o/s lower arm replaced and that solved the imbalance problems of the front brakes its only reading 20% instead of 30%, quick question after i arrived home i found this bolt/nut in the alloy so i am guessing that this has come from the parts that have been removed to replace the arm, anybody have any ideas of where this has come from and could it cause me any probs having this removed ? | Whaddya mean too old? | Re: O/S Lower Suspension Arm Not sure what that is from the picture, maybe a wheel arch liner or engine under cover 20% imbalance on your front brakes is still pretty grim and very close to another MOT fail. I'd bleed the brakes for a quick and cheap possible solution. When you need them, that 20% means a lot more
