| Stilo leaky roof Hi, I am new to this forum and not very computer savvy. But here goes. I bought a new Stilo in 02 and in the last 12 months noticed damp boot area.Thought may be because of car wash some water used to leak in.When I finally got around to checking the spare wheel last summer the area was full of water! My dealer says the frame on the skyroof has warped due to the sun! And the only way to solve the problem is to replace the whole roof at over 2000k! Should sky roofs warp? And surely its a design fault? I am getting no where with Fiat!!! Anyone have the same problems? The car has done less than 2000 miles as its a second car! Any advice? Syd911

| It's about GO! not SHOW! | Re: Stilo leaky roof That doesn't sound right to me. Have you checked where the water is coming in? I'm sure you'd have noticed a stained roof lining if it was that bad. Does the sky-roof work 100%?

| Re: Stilo leaky roof
It seems to me that Fiat will come up with any excuse under the SUN, excuse the pun. I have never heard such nonsense; don't they expect a sunroof to be resistant to the sun? I have a four year old Multiwagon with a sky roof which has not warped in the sun, if it did I would be suing Fiat. Anything you buy under the Sale of Goods Act, is supposed to be of merchantable quality, fit for purpose and expected to last a reasonable amount of time. 2000 miles and five years from when you bought the car, is not reasonable for this to happen, they are just trying it on. Go back to the dealer and quote the Sale of Goods Act to them, if they persist with their ludicrous excuses, threaten to take them to the small claims court. Then see what they say.

| Whaddya mean too old? | Re: Stilo leaky roof Usually a damp boot area is caused by a bad rear hatch seal, particularly if your spare wheel recess is awash. Dry it out then try sprinkling some talc powder around the inside portion of the rear hatch seal, hose the outside of the car and trace the source of the leak, even better if you fold the rear seats down and get in the boot. You'll probably find water getting past the seal, rolling down the hatch then dropping into the boot area. Stilos don't usually have a problem with rain water getting in

| Re: Stilo leaky roof Try the above and round the inside of the rear light units look for rust lines and the rubber round the rear hatch.Very supprised if its from thr roof.

| Hi, since I last posted a thread about my leaky sky roof I have looked at all the recomended solutions. My dealer said the roof frame had warped due to the sun! And I am not willing to fork out over 2000 squids to replace it! I have put a plastic tape around the edge of the glass roof which keeps the rain out! Fiat don't want to know because they say warranty does not cover defects caused by normal wear and tear or external agents! So Fiat how long should a sky roof last under normal wear and tear? Do I need to get a new roof every 3 -4 years? I think this will be my last Fiat...me thinks Skodas are better built these days!

| It's about GO! not SHOW! | Re: Stilo leaky skyroof ! It's lot easier if you keep a thread going (especially if YOU started it). That way people can try to make useful suggestions rather than waste their time trying to find the original problem. Why don't you answer the original thread and then hopefully someone can help ![]() BTW you haven't actually said what you've checked - apart from proving the water IS coming from the sunroof. How about a bit more info.
