ECU Re-Map

I am going to get my Stilo JTD re-maped, but how do they do it, i have got a price from celtic tuning for £350, but wat does it entail, do you need rolling road to set it up?

Re: ECU Re-Map

It's a case of reading and recording your current profile, storing it and then re-writing a new set of parameters on the ECU. (something like that)

The rolling road is a before & after affair so not absolutely necessary. You will notice the difference without seeing a printout.

Cool Re: ECU Re-Map

Rolling road In my opinion is as important as many can claim that you now have 150/60 BHP Sir and when its dyno'd its only 140

On a JTD 115 though Phil anything from 140 - 160 will be massively noticeable straight away.

If I were to re-map again then I would go for 140 and ensure my clutch lasted as long as it could. 140 - 160 might push it somewhat.

Re: ECU Re-Map

I've been waiting for my clutch to start slipping but it's been fine so far with 159bhp for about 2 months (still on original clutch with 51k miles on it ) , I wouldn't give it any more power though without getting an uprated clutch.

Cool Re: ECU Re-Map

Clutches don't last forever anyway and uprated ones are available for the stilo I have a full kit already waiting for the demise of mine .. but funnily enough since I have had the extra BHP I haven't had any symptoms of clutch slip since now is that confusing or not and yes I still drive it conservately
